Back in the early 90s Mrs SS was Marketing/Events Manager at the Hickstead Hotel.Clubs get special deals with certain hotels and hotel chains and so probably Southampton is the closest location to Brighton where this applies for WWFC...
Obese-tlyBeastly Eastleigh as the locals I know call it?
sounds ominous....Mrs SS was Marketing/Events Manager
Seen quite a few teams stay there over more recent years - particularly when we were in the championship. Staff would often be out on Job's Lane for a stroll on the morning of a match. Most of the PL teams seem to use the Malmaison in the MarinaBack in the early 90s Mrs SS was Marketing/Events Manager at the Hickstead Hotel.
On my suggestion she wrote to all of our opposition clubs to see if she could drum-up some business.
From memory, about 10/12 teams took up the option and stayed over on matchday-eve.
Very quiet location and a 20 minute coach ride in to Withdean.
Worked out well ...
I’m focusing on their top scorer being away, one of arguably their best players being suspended, and our great record against themReally really tough match and time to play them. They’ve won 4 out of last 5 …
Why would they be going to Withdean in the early 90s?!? Game of squash on the way to the Goldstone?Back in the early 90s Mrs SS was Marketing/Events Manager at the Hickstead Hotel.

Wolves team sighted in Eastleigh!
so I was cycling home from our local leisure centre a few minutes ago, having had a session at the gym in preparation for the long and arduous journey to the AMEX later, when I saw a bunch of blokes wearing very smart green track suits walking towards me. As I got closer, I realised the track suits all carried the Famous Wolverhampton Wanderers badge…. Booooooo.
this was alongside the swimming pool window, for those who know the geography.

Brighton and Hove Rangers didn't play at Withdean until 1900. Nice try though!1890s
I think a few stay at the East Sussex National (or at least that used to be the case)Seen quite a few teams stay there over more recent years - particularly when we were in the championship. Think you're talking about Hwang, who has been excellent this season, and the trio up top of him, Cunha and Neto is really dangerous. It sounds as though Neto might start, who is coming back from injury -- it'll be an interesting contest between him and Pervis who is also working his way back to peak fitness.I’m focusing on their top scorer being away, one of arguably their best players being suspended, and our great record against them
All you seem to do is sleepI will be asleep for this one and expect to wake to find another 3 points on the league table.
Which, strangely, doesn't apply to games in Scotland'There are no easy games at this level of competition'.

South Lodge, Lower Beeding is another place teams stay.I think a few stay at the East Sussex National (or at least that used to be the case)
