Yes.this is why I believe white is being played in midfield.
He is there to fill a position in which I'm sure we will get someone more specialised in that position but white playing in midfield is also a key part of his development into the middle defender in a back three.
A top class central defender in a back three needs to have the attributes of a central midfielder so the experience white is gaining in the midfield role will develop him into a far better central of three defender than dunk(who is already pretty decent).
I think white is being trained to take over from dunk in the centre of defence in a couple of seasons time.

Let's face it, we just don't have a Premier League squad of players, so we'll always kick off against most teams with a major disadvantage. Without some significant investment in January, in terms of both quality and quantity, we'll probably be down by March, especially if we keep potty Potter at the helm.
