It’s about quality, not quantity. All our CB’s have critical errors or going to sleep in them, including Dunk this season.

Everton fans yesterday couldn’t believe how annoyingly great the Stains CB’s were, fairly bullying their forwards out of the match.

If only.

Why split dunk and duffy? both miles better with the other. To play an attacking brand of football where we still struggle to score and now cant defend?

Agreed, the game totally changed on that substitution. Lallana was by far our best player, if he had to go off, it should have been for Alzate.

Gross shouldn’t be anywhere near the first team anymore, he simply isn’t good enough and hasn’t been for 2 years. And before someone comes back with the chance creation crap, they were all set pieces. And he’s not even good at those anymore, Mac Allister should be on all dead balls when he’s on the pitch.

Gross should have gone the same way as Murray, Duffy and Stephens in the summer. Thanks for the service and memories, but not good enough anymore.
Yes, bizarre substitution. Hanging on at the end, worst performance of the season

We clearly miss Duffy. I don't care how bad he is at passing. We are lacking steel

Sky & BT just love the mugs who pay £14.95 to watch a game.
All around the country fans have given thousand of pounds to charity instead of financing PPV.
Embarrassing from us (like today’s performance)

Far too many Pissy-Pants-Posters on here today. **** off, get a grip and then come back when you can support the team. The rest of us are getting fed up with your constant moaning.

Ignoring the pathetic use of ‘pissy pants’, why don’t you **** off yourself? This is a place to discuss our club, after an abysmal performance people are entitled take a forensic look at what went wrong, sanctimonious clown.

As others rightly said though tonight was a game on paper we should win, spurs isnt...... so why take him off, he was purring in that midfield and running the game

He was. I was more surprised Trossard wasn't the one being replaced, for the odd flick and bit of skill he was either giving the ball away or running down blind alleys. We didn't seem to really back our strengths second half, no one got close enough to Lamptey to enable him to have an influence, Bissouma was left isolated, as was Maupay.

Credit where credit was due however, West Brom sat back more in the 2nd half than they did in the first. It completely threw us, but what it did for West Brom was slow our play down with the ball in the middle third, then when winning it back they went quick on the counter with plenty of bodies targetting key areas. I thought it was pretty good from them, BUT we should have been more than capable of dealing with it.

I'm in no way calling for the manager's head, but we hardly ever win in a results based business. We don't win when we play well, nor when we play badly. If it continues, he simply has to come under some pressure.

We beat Newcastle a few games ago?

I’m gutted tonight as well. But let’s keep perspective. We have won games, Potter kept us up. And aside from Palace and tonight, we’ve come off the back of a very though run of fixtures.

I don’t think we’ll go down still. I do question the recruitment for our club (again) however. Welbeck is not the answer.

.

You did well Fareham to last this many games without having a pop at Gross.

He wasn’t the reason we drew though.

Haven’t read the probable like minded comments but fuming. We are so gutless and spineless. I’m not saying we have any right to beat WBA but Potter should be under a much bigger microscope than present. Starts the game with 4 centre backs? We had to keep our best player on the pitch for the whole game (even if it rules him out V Spurs as we’ve much better chance of getting 2 more points here than anything V Spurs). Keeps Maupay on the whole game and last week? There was one moment when the ref gave a throw in our way then changed his mind based on their protests. Potter looked pathetic. I just find us all a bit focused on footballing purity and good sportsmanship. These don’t help you when your 1-0 at home and under pressure. The players aren’t leaders and we were so passive in that second half appearing content that it’s ok to be outplayed for the whole half. It’s pathetic and inward looking. We won’t beat Spurs and Burnley will be licking their northern lips. Love the way we pass it under Potter but he just comes increasingly across as a personality hoover and unable to motivate or demand more from his players in certain.

Agree with all of this. Compare Bilic's demeanour compared to Potter. We looked nervous and tentative today. Perhaps nervous because the players felt it was a must win game. Potter's job to take the nervousness away. Substitutions were negative. We need a reaction v Spurs. Can see Burnley bullying us all over the pitch. Missed Connolly's running today.

I agree with your point.

But my god, the irony of you complaining about people’s moaning.

What? We were a bit crap in the second half. I am sure it will improve. Does it need more than that? Or, because we were a bit crap should I sit here and post vitriolic abuse of players? Yeah, lets do that, that will help them improve. :ffsparr:

A bit crap?!
Very generous IMO.

Personally, a bit crap summed up the first half IMO.
