Hold on to your hats this afternoon folks, there could be some movement in the table.

We start the day in 4th but could be in 6th place by the time our match kicks off if Chelsea and Newcastle win (with a two goal margin for the Geordies). If we then go on to win by a two goal margin, we’d be 3rd.

Brighton will need to do a better job at preventing their strikers getting the ball compared to the Liverpool game or this will be very difficult. For the first time I think Bissoumas departure might be felt.

That said, I think Trossard will bag another two today and hopefully that will be enough.

In my own strange world
I feel horribly confident which is never a good sign..hope for the best but expecting the worse, be good to get a proper look how the team set up, was a bit difficult at Anfield with a crossbar in the way and Sun in my eyes.

I’m concerned that I’ll get cold at the Amex tonight. At the start of the season I was in sunnier climes and wore shorts and a t-shirt to watch our opening win at Old Trafford on TV. I wore the exact same shorts and t-shirt (and underwear if you’re interested) for the next 2 games and consequently decided this must be my lucky football uniform.

So when I returned home from holiday, I continued to wear the exact same outfit every time we played. I forgot to do so for the Fulham game, hence reinforcing my opinion that this is, indeed, a lucky outfit.

Therefore, I feel compelled to wear the same shorts and t-shirt (and underwear) to the game later today. I’m almost hoping that we lose so I can discontinue this ridiculous farce, but on the other hand, I’m happy to risk hypothermia through the winter if it means we go undefeated for the rest of the season!

You'll just have to put extra clothes on over the top of the shorts and t-shirt!

Thank you for your sacrifice. Have you considered wearing something over the top of the outfit? It might break the run, but imagine if it didn’t!? Imagine if the magic works as long as you are wearing it, and it doesn’t matter if it’s not showing. Next season we could have an Invincible's season!! I think it’s worth the test.

Good luck

I wonder if the club have done anything about our row being completely run over by our "youth" I doubt it.

Luckily you weren't wearing the Mrs lacy thong for that game

We are too entitled. Talk of “taking a draw”. I’d snatch your hand off for a draw.

I don't think it's necessarily entitlement. More like a realistic assessment of where we are right now. Any game where we are at home to a team one place and three points above us, we should be looking at to win - and I think it's fair to say that most fans would not be surprised if we do win. The fact that they are 3rd in the Premier League and not 15th in League 1 shouldn't change this at all.

Agree. Tracker says no points, plus only 5 points from the next 6 games. Have a feeling we'll do markedly better than that, a point today would be a good start to the pre-WC run in.

When we eventually lose comfortably again and are outplayed, people are going to lose their shit. I’m enjoying us at this position in the league for what it is - but we aren’t going to be in the top 4 or 6 at the end of the season. Some fans, as I say, are getting quite entitled and slightly delusional about our level.

It’s one thing being optimistic, it’s another thing “expecting” results against much bigger teams, playing European football (which we’ve never done) with a budget that eclipses ours, with a vastly more successful history.

Let's hope they can make us look like Real Madrid too ....

Think it's about time Welbz bulged the onion sack - 2 for him and 1 for Tross - less than 3 for them

It's a fascinating period for the club. We've been a work in progress for several seasons, gently improving all the time, but obviously not in a straight line. The long term trajectory is north.

After 7 games, (8 for those above us), the league table is probably not lying, and certainly won't be after the October fixtures. We deserve to be in fourth place, at least for now.
The departure of Potter et al was obviously a blow in the kidneys, the effects of which will still be working their way through for several months. But it isn't a foregone conclusion that those effects will be bad in the longer term. It is possible (no more than that) that in time, Potter's departure will be seen as the thing that allowed us to lift our game to the next level. Only time will tell.

Both our performance and result at Anfield, as well as the feedback from pundits, were a good start.

Brighton factually.....
Realistically speaking Tottenham should have more than enough to win probably 2-1 would be the expected outcome.

However football is a funny old game, and I can see a new manager & late kick off, really lifting the crowd and I have a feeling we will get something from this game.
