If we get promoted, yes please. If not, I think I'll be too miserable to share anyone's company.
I'm not a mathematician :(
I was going for 87 or more, since we can't (realistically) beat them on GD.

It's tight with 87. You're now prompting me to have a look at the remaining fixtures of Burnley, Boro and Hull. In other words, I haven't spurned you yet.

If we go on an average of 2 points per game for the top three, they'll end up with:
Burnley 90
Boro 89
Hull 88
I still think it's unlikely that all three will end up with that ratio. One will in all likelihood, it's about 50-50 that two will, but would be surprised if all three do. Looking at their run-ins, they're all easier than ours, Hull's especially, who have seven home games left. And it's their run-ins that's swaying things for me. Will go with 88 if you're willing to bite. Proceeds to REMF, with Goldstone1976 providing liquid refreshments.

ps I'll never accuse you of being a mathematician again. Promise.

Likewise, and I think I've seen others post this today also, I'd bought a ticket last week and am now feeling utter shite so probably can't make it. Going to take every medicine under the sun to see if I can hold out for a few hours but it might not be worth it.

I am already tucked up in bed and doubt I'll even make it awake to kick-off.

G'night all:yawn:

So what exactly is the bet? My bet was that if we get 87 points, we won't finish in the top two. What are you asking for?

I didn't take it as an insult.

I'll keep the poster's name who posted this to myself:

I have us finishing 5th.

Hard to predict Hull dropping many points. Battle for 2nd and 3rd will be tight. I also had Derby to finish 4th, but did (hopefully) over score the other teams.

projected total
Hull 103
Burnley 95
Boro 95
Derby 83
BHA 82
Weds 80

Yes I remember that post but I think it was 2 or 3 matches ago and I don't think anyone took it seriously in any case.

Whoever posted that is clearly mental!

When people do those predictor tables they never predict enough draws. I think there'll be a maximum of 4 points between 1st and 4th, and 89/90 points will probably win it. The last two games will see the top 4 all with a chance of automatics. 86/87 will be 1 or 2 points short

Radio 5 are helpfully advertising airing the Sheffield Wednesday vs Brighton game tonight. It's not in Sheffield for Christ's sake! I know they are massive and I'm surprised they're not just advertising 'the Sheffield Wednesday' match tonight.

Radio 5 extra is providing commentary on the enthralling Charlton vs. MK Franchise tonight' Guess they know what's important and what's not ...........................................................

Boro will be on 91. You're not a mathematician either.

Well, that would at least give us a chance to get our revenge on Derby for the last time we were in the play-offs. Until it's mathematically certain that it can't happen, though, I'm still looking for an automatic spot.
