To give you a feel for where we are compared to 12 months ago then this was the team exactly a year ago for the first Amex game of 2013/14 against Derby..

Kuszczak
03 Greer
14 Calderon
20 Upson
28 Maksimenko
10 Agustien
21 David Lopez
32 Ince (LuaLua - 80' )
09 Barnes (Andrews - 71' )
19 Ulloa
30 Buckley (March - 86' )

Bridcutt was injured and hardly played before leaving in January, Ward didn't sign for another few weeks. Crofts and JFC, later regulars, were on the bench. CMS of course was 8 months away from getting fit. Agustien and Maksimenko had rare League starts. El Abd was on the bench where he also remained mostly before leaving for Bristol City. Orlandi was also not fit and likewise didn't feature most of the season.

I can't get over the weakness down our left hand side in two matches against Derby. A whole summer to remember about it.

The first thing we will look for is who plays left back for the Albion.

Four choices: Chicksen, Maksimenko, Hughes or Calderon. Only the first two are natural left footers.

Good point. I, for one, don't remember feeling particularly worried at the time of that match that we were putting out a weak side and would struggle during the season. Within the next three weeks things could look very different. If they don't and results have not gone well then I will start to get concerned. But that might not happen. UTA

Big difference for me is at no. 19. Losing a 20 goal a season striker is not an easy gap to fill. CMS back and hopefully fit again is undoubtedly good news but he's no ulloa...

like another poster said the big miss will be the no 19
plus have we got suitable full backs on either side of the pitch to play
the way Sami wants.
needs someone to be a spark
Buckley or Lua Lua ? even better March or Fenelon.
Here is hoping.

That's a little deceptive. It was the third game of the season. Our first game of last season v Leeds had a line up:

29 (G) T Kuszczak
2 (D) Bruno
3 (D) G Greer
14 (D) I Calderon
20 (D) M Upson
8 (M) A Crofts
11 (M) A Orlandi (83)
21 (M) D Lopez (57)
26 (M) L Bridcutt
9 (F) A Barnes (65)
19 (F) L Ulloa

With agustien, Buckley, lualua coming off the bench.

I don't even know what the pie of the day will be today, let alone which 11 will play.

We're Wednesday  incredibly dirty last year or is my memory deceiving me?

Shit game, worst of the season. 1-1. Secret weapon made our last minute equaliser. 1-1 draw, Ulloa had a torrid half a game.

Both sides are particularly weak at left back for this game. Mattock is better than Chicksen though, but not much in it.
Last game: http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/24246250

Stronger team (?) v Wednesday last season:

29 Kuszczak
17 Ward
20 Upson
03 Greer
14 Calderón (Buckley - 45' )
04 Andrews
08 Crofts
21 D. López (Barnes - 58' )
25 Lua Lua
19 Ulloa (Agustien - 56' )
02 Bruno

But this is when the Bruno in midfield experiment went all wrong!
