Are we missing Milner's experience to see out these types of games
No. The issue is tactical. Swapping Hinsh out for Milner, who’d really struggled as a high 8, would’ve left us more exposed with his worse pace and mobility. What we needed was to stop the transitions at source or drop the midfield players further back so that they were in better positions to press the turnover…

Or, as many suggested, drop the whole team 10 yards.

Good analysis from Shearer of Albion's high-risk high defensive line over the season which isn't working as it should.

Hopefully the lads and the boss will take this on board.
Good news - there'll be a repeat of this tonight.

Whether anyone will be watching or listening is another matter.

Impossible to stop the transitions over 90 minutes. Forest and Wolves exploited that to a tee.

A high line defence relies on pacy defenders and midfielders to get back in numbers when countered. I’ve been following discussions/interviews on this very subject regarding Slot.

We lack that type of player, except Baleba. But you need a few of them.

I’m not sure we lack those players in midfield, but we certainly do in defence.

Either way, I don’t see Milner being that solution.

Lots of bedwetting on twitter but I think we would have been up against it regardless of how we set up today.

I think Gung-ho was probably the right approach today, I'd much rather we lose in this way than keep it tight and lose 2-1. I like how fearless we are bit this approach will mean we get handed a few postings

Radio Sussex last 15 minutes has been excellent:

You don’t win PL games with a high line against pace. We saw that against Forest. Luckily Ipswich don’t have the players with the confidence to tuck away chances at this level.

Damning of Webster’s two first half mistakes and not balanced by later goal line clearances “By then the damage is done”.
