Poor, or at least "not good", first half. Would sub Mwepu for Maupay and drop down Trossard a little bit - would give the team some more movement and hopefully some more ball time for Tross. Dont expect it to happen in half time as you want to see how Newcastle approaches second half but it is a change I'd want fairly soon.

Lovely to see Lamptey back, they’re doubling up but can’t stop him.

Biss bossing midfield.

They’re fighting for their NU careers, after a lazy 3 months, running around like headless chickens, targeting Trossard with kicks.

Love to see a second goal from us, they’re obsessed with set pieces … always a danger.

Need a fast start to the second half. Toon offering not much so far and can only get better. As can we. Lamptey looks good though, no-one else has really got going yet. A second half Mwepu brace coming up.

Pretty sure the boys wanted 2 or 3 but it just doesnt happen "easily". There is very little space to work with.
