Baleba and JP at half time would be great. Adringra off too perhaps. We can get back in this. We have to run all over City second half like has happeend to them recently.

Not a great first half, but not awful. They're obviously a top quality side even with their depleted squad, but we did show them too much respect to begin with.

We deserve to be losing, can't complain. Could be more than just one if it wasn't for some important blocks from defenders and key saves from Verbruggen.

Haaland is too good at what he does, as soon as he had the ball at his feet running at the goal, there is only one outcome 90% of the time.

We finished the half pretty well - we need to start the second off in the same vain. An early equaliser would really open up this fixture.

I'm not optimistic, but we need to play with confidence and positivity - we CAN score against City - but we'll need to be at our best and/or have a bit of luck.

Why do we persist with Pervis, we got lucky with him missing from action at least 3 times first half. 2 of them in 2 minutes both could have cost us goals.
I want another Veltman on the left, if Pervis wants to be a winger you are down the list at Brighton, I'm afraid.

Fab needs to change it now or there is zero chance of points today.

Outplayed so far by a better team, as expected. Had a decent 5 minute spell towards the end of the half, otherwise much like against Spurs, we’ve been half a beat off the pace.

Referee doing us no favours (the foul on Veltman should’ve been a yellow for one).

Need to hugely up the pace, intensity and physicality. It’s been pretty routine for them so far and if we carry on the same I can see them getting a couple or three more.

The amount of fouls Haaland gets away with is ridiculous. Why do City have to resort to these sort of low level fouls all the time when they’re so good?!
He had a chance for a late equaliser last week, which was saved at point-blank range, where he’d been vigorously wrestling the defender to win the ball in the first place. Academic, but I bet VAR wouldn’t have disallowed it coz it was him.

That’s not so bad. No need for a bedwetters’ town hall.

We were right up against it early on but have weathered the storm when it looked like they might motor away by half time.

The next big challenge is to keep things tight early in the next half. We’ve got to stay in the match a while longer yet.

I don’t feel the assertion that we should be rolling them over because Bournemouth did so is all that useful. As if football is uniform, and what happens one week determines what should happen the next.

Come on, lads! Second half. A little bit of oomph. Attacking the North Stand. We’ll marmalise them*
