Hate to say it but I think this is to protect Bart. His development won't be helped by picking the ball out of his net 5 or 6 times tonight.

But football has a tendency to produce surprises and Barco's presence is a wild card. Could be fun.
If he was that fragile, then being a professional GK is the wrong job for him.

All keepers must surely take a hammering at times in their careers, no?

Er, yes. But if we lose in a manner which suggests it was a poor selection then he has every right to be criticised.
To a degree, yes (he is not immune from criticism obviously), but there's every chance we'll lose no matter what team we put out because it's a fact that City just win most games (particularly at this stage of the season).
How do we know there was a better team/formation to put out that isn't a 'poor selection'.
Maybe the selection individual fans want would end up with a worse result? We'll never know.
All I'm saying is that when faced with the financially doped juggernaut that is Man City, we probably shouldn't blame anyone too much if/when we lose.

Maybe if Bart is brave enough to use his hands rather than his legs as in the last game, he would be the better shot stopper
Hard to knock a player for playing within the laws imo. You are not a fan (of him) though are you?

This is true but a year ago they would have been more nervous about playing us than they are now. We are currently a soft touch..for whatever reason, injuries are only a part of it imo.

Can’t even watch via Fubo as I’ll be flying from St John’s to Ottawa. Hoping for a good result, but not expecting one.
Wahoo! Gonna be able to follow on Live Text (and here)!

Joke. Barts been our best player recently. Made some exceptional saves and has improved his decision making and distribution. RDZ given up? Feels v flat here tonight. Think the negative pressers really rub off on us.
He’s taking the piss he just said pre match we are still fighting for a European place.

Not my favourite line up by a long shot but maybe selected with half an eye on safeguarding a few key players against more injuries ( from fatigue) when we still have teams we could beat 🤷🏻‍♂️

Roberto seems more relaxed - talking about next season with Ferguson and Mitoma in a recent interview- I still feel he will give Brighton another season regardless of swoopers. Can’t believe he’s still talking about trying for Europe - cheeky so and so !

Play well lads - that’s all we can ask 👍
