No idea what to expect this evening. I think RDZ will have us up for it and Pep will not tolerate a defeat, even if it is his (really good) back up squad. I do not think either manager will allow the players to phone it in tonight. A lot has been said about us needing a point so an entertaining 2-2 it is then!

Season this game define two... what?
Busy day but looking forward to tonight. Flames & a post match light show (and we know why, a win).
We need a point. At 0:7 I'm on the pitch.

This gag has been done four times on this thread now, yet it's probably the first time this season that it isn't actually true!
The BBC would appear to differ - they've still got that all-important line between 5th and 6th place.
Looks like we must win both and hope Liverpool lose at Southampton. We're doomed!

If we win, I'm on the pitch as well

(As long as I can get a steward to bring those steps over like I did v Wigan, bloody dodgy knees)

If we win this play-off and go on to play Champions League football next season it would be brilliant

As expected they're going to have a weaker squad, would be nice to grab an unlikely 5th on the final day by winning tonight!

Theres going to be loads of empty seats tonight.

Every time I look at our ticket site there are more and more tickets available on the exchange and not many are selling (especially as it's a Wednesday night and the most expensive grade of game)

Also, Man City twitter is literally full of city fans trying to shift their tickets too. Obviously, the game has now become unimportant for them and I guess people are thinking the same goes for us to a lesser extent
All the above BUT of course it's live on Sky too, another reason many might give this a swerve. I suspect many aren't expecting much out of this (and it won't have the same atmosphere as the incredible post-lockdown win against them), and suspect more supporters are focused on the season defining™ game on Sunday against Villa.

Unlike the Guildford based Man U fans, Manchester is a long way for a relatively meaningless Wednesday night fixture

Good point and one I didn't consider.

Bit sad that the final home game of the season is midweek featuring 2 teams with nothing to play for, going to be quite underwhelming tonight I imagine in a season full of things to celebrate. I'm still going though, I cannot get enough of it this season!

If we lose 10-0 tonight, then Villa would still need to beat us by 4 clear goals on Sunday.

Do we really want to go into the game on Sunday with Villa only needing to score 4? Or even 5, or 6? I would be terrified. It is certainly unlikely that would happen but I am sure they would give it a decent go if they get a sniff.
