Ali J needs to start the next game and dare I say it Ryan needs to be dropped. He was absolutely shocking tonight and his confidence has taken a battering. Good chance Propper won’t even make the squad too I reckon.

We need to get real. We have a squad of 14 million average players. We need 16 players of quality plus a few youngsters and reserves. Any changes in match day squad just swaps average for slightly average for bang average.

I wonder which banned member you are

People being too harsh.

Man City were just " Class " - Barely a misplaced pass. They chased down everything out of possession and clinical up front. And Laporte marshalled a high line defense perfectly.

Just move on and forget this one.

So much this. Incredible that people start throwing their toys out the pram after losing against the most expensive team ever assembled.

ManC win both halves - 2/1
ManC score 3 or more goals - Evens

The markets underrating ManC and ManU just now, is proving a cash-cow. Giving solace.

This won’t last .... they’ll run away with the PL’s top two places next season, all odds will be awful.

That was the worst goalkeeping display I've ever seen from a Brighton keeper. I'm not normally one to criticise but that deserved it.

Ryan didn’t have a good game but you’ve clearly never seen Andy Petterson or Graeme Smith play for us if that’s the worse goalkeeping display you’ve ever seen.

That was an extremely annoying watch. It is bizarre how Liverpool are runaway champions as City, for the third season on a trot, are by far the hardest Premier League team to play against. They are utterly perfect in everything they do. We had a far easier time of it against Liverpool on Wednesday - and that's saying something!

But man alive, that was bad from us tonight. 3 of those goals were preventable (the two Maty/defensive clangers plus the corner). What was more annoying was the set up for me. I generally agree we have improved under Potter. But there's no point approaching the City game playing every so slightly more positively than CH would have had us, if we're going to be twice as worse defensively because of it. Seeing us park 10 men behind the ball would have been no less enjoyable than that and at least would have been a strategy. Not sure at all what the tactics were out there tonight aside from "try your best".

Generally speaking we've had a great restart and hopefully are more than safe. Just very annoying to see our GD advantage over a team like West Ham slashed by 9 in a day, even if it will probably be immaterial in the end.

Well that was an absolute shit performance. Ryan and Propper had absolute nightmares.

We were embarrassed tonight...big time

How I felt throughout the first half Vs Utd. To be fair City are a terrific team, but our shape was poor tonight.

I've missed sensible voices like yours all game.

Pretty flabbergasting to see the obviously bizarre expectations a lot seem to have.

Nope, that was a shocking performance, being outclassed I can take but the lack of intent in closing down and the way we accepted losing 50/50 balls was unacceptable.

Maybe the third game against a top 5 side took it’s toll and our confidence was shot to pieces

I do think there is a lot of Palace infiltration going on at the moment. A lot of over the top outraged opinions from accounts that have only been in existence for a few months. I suppose no school over the last 4 months had made the poor loves bored.

Not good enough on the night but not going to get too downbeat about it.

Felt the lack of pace with Groß, Mooy and Propper all starting along with two fullbacks who struggle to advance the ball was going to mean we were easily put under pressure.

Mistakes by Ryan will be the most highlighted and he does seem to be going through a bad patch.... however the concentration levels required against City are off the charts and we didn’t seem to have the levels tonight.

My only major issue was our lack of effort and tempo... we are never going to match City with ability but you have to put fight and out battle them... and tonight we went down with a whimper.

Mrs WT is in hospital at moment and called me during the game .

'Is it it over' she asked. The clock said 65 mins played

'Yes' I say

Are you watching Peter Crouch' she asked 'the woman is just about to fall out of her top'

'Er no the football is actually still on' i say (whilst switching to BBC 1).

I then own up to switching channel ... we have a discussion about said lady.

I switch back football to see another mistake by Ryan.

I make comment ' After all that there were bigger boobs at the football '
