I'm not sure if Murray has "had his time" yet. It's possible, but it's also possible that his form will pick up out of nowhere.

One things for sure though - he has lost his mojo. He's not even drawing fouls anymore. He missed a couple of sitters at Leicester. That's basically his strong points nullified and he offered nothing today. He needs a rest.

With Huddersfield making a late vague attempt at getting an equaliser I wonder if CH considered bringing on Bong and pushing Bernardo to DM in front of the back four. This must be worth considering as an alternative to bringing on Kayal to defend.a lead.

Yes that same pedestrian Murray. I maintain my point, Murray’s scored some goals this season but if Andone had started every game when available, I fully believe we would have more points by now and already be safe. Andone is a superior player who makes the whole team better.

It is possible with 2 players to say one offers something different whilst still respecting and acknowledging the value of the other.

Ps: “some goals” - Murray has scored Ten league goals . Ten !!

He had a knock before the warm weather training, so it might be possible he's carrying an injury.

No it isn't.

Can you imagine the reception FFS Murray will get coming on as a sub? I know some Palace and they have a lot of time for him. They will be totally confused. Bless.

Apparently Bernardo has played as DM and he played well in the game at The Amex where he played as a CB, I think that it was the League Cup v Southampton. so I would think it is worth a try in training.
Why would we play a left back as a D/CM when we could play an actual CM there?

Where did I say I didn’t respect or acknowledge Murray’s contribution? He’s a club legend and has been a great goalscorer but I think he holds us back now.

It is possible to respect and acknowledge a players past contribution whilst accepting that another player is the much better option now I’m sure you will agree.

And yes, he’s got 10 goals, but only 4 more from open play than Andone from a lot more minutes on the pitch. And only 2 from open play in the premier league since the 24th November, over 3 months, and they came against a dreadful, championship standard Fulham defence.

It makes no sense to start him ahead of Andone anymore.

I agree in the main, but I would start him next Saturday at Selhurst.

Kayal is easily the best to come on, why you may ask BG? Because he is a very good player is the answer.

We all know you don't like him but Christ give it a rest.

Come on!

Town are down.. they have been creamed many times this season and as much as we wanted them to come and play samba football, that is not their game. So they time wasted...so what... they are not there to entertain brighton fans....they hit people on the break...that is how they play.

We were dreadful at times today...boring, predictable ad one dimensional....we played straight into their hands.

If it wasn't for a brilliant save from Ryan, they would have done what they came for. Remember they tried to go at us at their place and we rolled them over.

Still is that our only sixpointer from a team this season?

If Ryan hadn't saved that he needs to look for another job. That was as a routine save as you could get.

No. I very much doubt he did, despite your personal hatred of Kayal.

You're seeing what you want to see. He lost possession once, when two hudds players were bearing down on him and tried to play it through them when unironically, he should have passed it backwards.

Criticising Stephens today is advertising your bias, he was immense.

That is the midfield 3 I would choose every week.
If you think Stephens was immense then I would say you are also somewhat biased. Very noticeable that you are defending him every game and critical of those that do not share your view.

I cannot believe how defensive we are at home to ..... Huddersfield ffs.
We were playing 451. WTF? The most defensive setup we've ever had, at home to the worst team in the league. I wonder if recent results have put Chris off the attacking football we had been trying.

Because this was a must not lose game and the fact that their record suggested they were the worst team in the league meant nothing as everybody is fighting for survival.

I expect a slightly more adventurous approach if we get another win under our belts or even possibly at Palace on Saturday.

No I stand up for those who are irrationally singled out as weak links. Bong, and Stephens who is this season's Barnes.

If we do as many on this forum want, misguided as it is, we will get relegated. He is a limited player who performs that limited role exceptionally well. It will take serious investment to replace him in that position with someone who is as good AND can offer more.

I don't suppose you noticed how the game changed yesterday after Hogg was taken off injured, another very limited player.
