The nervousness and moaning from the fans today has not helped a team low on confidence.
I know it's an old argument but players will react to a positive crowd, they needed the fans behind them today.

I think it's a circular argument. Do the team's poor performances deserve a standing ovation, or does it take a rousing atmosphere to get a response from the players? IMO probably a bit of both.
