I tend to agree with much of this. I was at the game today ( as opposed to the armchair and unwell ( again) critics) and Ferguson never stopped running in that first half, yet got very very little service. It was a hopeless task for him. I'm not sure that playing him and Welbeck ( who had a superb game) together work.

Overall on the game, we rarely created clear cut chances against a boring, but very disciplined side.

The goal by Dunk was just fantastic and lifted my disappointment totally. Anyone who felt flat after that really needs to actually go to the games more often rather than criticise from their laptop.

Often in Amex games this season you see on repeat either Pedro, Welbeck or Ferguson making great little runs hovering on the shoulder of less mobile CB’s, yet the pass never comes. Instead complex interplay around the centre circle, slowing it all down.

I can’t be sure of this …. was Mac Allister incisive in making exactly type of pass?

Lewis Dunk after capping his 400th league appearance for the club with a stoppage-time leveller against Everton:

“Mixed emotions – we are frustrated not to win. I think we dominated the game, I don’t know what they had other than the goal? T (Tariq Lamptey) cleared one off the line but that was probably their two chances."

“Against them, defending set-pieces is tough, that’s what they are good at but we have to kill games off when we are dominating them and we’ve been speaking about that for a while now."

“That’s the next step we have to make but the character we showed when going down to 10 men was outstanding and to come back and get a draw was massive."

“I said after the win at Sheffield United that we had a massive six, seven, eight games coming up that could define our season and hopefully today was a massive point."

Roberto De Zerbi

“Everton are a very good team but we played very well and I think we deserved to win. We have a big respect for the opponent always but I have to be honest and I think we played much better and we created more chances to score."

“But we are playing with a lot of, too many, injuries, especially in attack and we are losing a lot of important points and places in the table and I am frustrated for it because we have eight or nine draws – if you analyse these draws you can see how many times we deserved to win."

“I am frustrated because our table could be different if you analyse the quality of the games, how many chances we created in respect of the opponent – today was like Fulham, Burnley, Sheffield United."

“Today we made a lot of mistakes in the last 20 metres, we had many chances to score and we lost another two points."

We’ll have to agree to disagree. I see it that Evan makes the runs to leave Dunk, Welbeck, etc space to attack the ball on corners. Not sure how many but in the first half DC-L made at least 3 near post headed clearances from Gross corners, that presumably were intended for someone in the huddle. When it did eventually reach the huddle the Everton defenders were so tight that our headers plopped harmlessly to Pickford.

Getting back to EF …… we need to change our style of play if he is to come good. Clearly he is no Pedro but he knows how to score.
If EF thinks he should be getting better balls in than Gross’s, he’s going to be waiting a very long time.

Gross and Wee Billie are good but last season we had Mac, Caciedo and Gross.
Maybe never see tgat again. Our attacking players are so much better now and I reckon they’re going to come good over the few months. More positives today than negatives. Horrible as Everton are they were good today,

Very unnessessary dig that. It's easier to just give the thumbs down and post your thoughts of the game rather than include an attack on others.
There may be reasons others post negatively - their current state of mind etc
If your lucky enough not to suffer with mental health, PTSD etc from shit you've had to see in life, maybe you won't get it.
I don't think it's necessary to have a dig.
Some people 'critising from their laptop' might not be able to sit in such environments, might not have the finances etc.
I'm aware of at least one forum member who has recently attempted suicide. A low state of mind generally makes you very negative about many things. It isn't a choice, I know as I'm pretty f*cked up myself.
You may see them massively positive or completely the other way.
Just thumbs down it and move on....

I think we need more love for that clearance, absolutely brilliant positioning and not and easy one to make as the ball was travelling at speed at Lamptey had to time his jump just right.

”the pass never comes” So true, I would like to add Fati to those you mention. He finds space, but never gets a pass.

Good point in the end thought Billy was short all game and not surprised he got a red. Time for Baleba to show his worth.
Not his fault - blame his genes for that.

It’s also interesting that Dyche thinks so little of his own club’s fans that he never wants to shoot towards them in the second half.
He needs them to be roaring his stalwart defence on in the last third of the game. I reckon that's why he does it.

I haven’t a clue what Evan thinks but maybe he is so tightly marked that it frees up space for other players to get on the end of Gross’ crosses. Anyway let’s agree to differ otherwise we’ll still be here at midnight!

Putting individual users to one side, a good point from you about people being kinder here.

Sorry to hear your story, I hope there are ways you can get help.

So what was it with Pickford at the end? Yes - I know they lost a couple of points because of a late goal - but he was more wound up about something than disappointed in the result?

😳I don’t need a sanctimonious lecture on how I should be a more appreciative fan thanks- I’ve been supporting Brighton for 50 years and have rarely rarely said anything negative about the team or individual - I’m the least entitled person there is
- in fact the very opposite- it is usually me singing our praises when others have criticised our . manager or players/season/match performance

I didnt say anything negative about the team today either - My remark has been taken entirely out of context. If we had not played very well and created so many chances in the first half hour, I would have been more excited about a draw but we missed some very easy walk ins that should have had us up by several goals before half time.

Ive been in hospital most of the week and still very ill with a kidney and serious chest infection - it would have taken a win today to get me anywhere near feeling excited - it is what it is.
Yes hoping you make a swift recovery a valued member of the NSC family. Take care bud.
