Corners were all going to be a challenge today. Evertons smallest player was taller than our tallest, until they bought Maupay on.

They’re a challenge every game for us.

I really would rather we gave the opposition a goal kick. At least with our usually excellent press we’ve got a chance of scoring from that.

What the game did show was our general lack of pace, especially when we have to rely on Gross at right back.
We really need a fully firing Lamptey back for games like this where we know a team is likely to counter attack us, or a signing in the summer to give us greater pace.
Buonotte isn’t ready yet.
Jury out on Steel I think. Has got caught a couple of times now on near post.
Mitoma needs a rest.
Undav isn’t a Premier League player.

On the plus side, Ferguson is back and without the world class Pickford, could have had a hat trick.
It shows we need greater strength in depth. We have numerous players out injured and it’s starting to show. These players will return at some point.
Games like this can be an eye opener and if we were undecided about a key signing, it may make us get the cheque book out. Eg Alex Scott.
What the players do need to do is react positively so we can have a strong end to the season.

This, 100%. Some of the suggestions as to why it happened and the 20/20 hindsight being displayed over tactics and team selection is hilarious. As you say a bad day at the office. Shit happens. Would be very Brighton after that to beat Arsenal and Newcastle away.

Most of the booing was from the Everton fans as they had decent possession when the whistle went wasn’t it ?

Last time RDZ's starting line up was heavily criticized we won 6-0. I'm not sure what was so different today (apart from the result, obviously).

Has anyone managed to work out why Pickford wasn't booked? Every time they had a goal kick, he went off for a drink.

It will focus the minds on our transfer department. We do need another right back. We do need need another centre back. We need back up to Pervis. We probably do need a GK if RDZ isnt confident in Bob. We do need more players and better players to compete over a full season in more than just the league. We do have to accept that even our most promising youngsters will lack consistency. And, most worryingly, it IS going to be very hard to replace to Moises and Mac. Don't sort all those out and we will still be a decent Premier League team, but we simply won't be able to compete higher up the table and with the added pressure of Europe.

Dyche knows every trick in the book. And tactically he done a number on us today. Not the first time he's got the better of us as well. But it's fone now, we have to kove on and learn from it

Disasterous day. We won’t recover from that. We will lose at Arsenal, Man C and Newcastle. Had to win today and against Saints. Now last European place will go down to the final game and Villa at home will win it. So many errors today from everyone. Wrong line up, tired, complacent, error strewn.
