Rubbish game. Very poor advert for PL football. Only good is Fulham need 3 wins to go above us. When we are trying to create not easy with Gross and Moder doing wide rolls and so often Welbeck playing on wing No excuse for rubbish shooting . Very lucky with loads of time there player shot wide. Not much good football to watch now with Potter now happy to pick up odd point.

Burn I can maybe understand, Moder tiring, recognised defender on and also an outlet for a long ball / giving Everton someone else to worry about at a corner other than dunk.

AJ absolutely no idea!

He maybe 6,7 but Burn is poor in the air. As a pundit said earlier in season he is 6,7 and jumps to 6,9

Strangely he seems better in the air as an attacking outlet (wins quite a few) but doesn’t win many when he’s defending

Maupay needs dropping for the next game. Either give Zeqiri a go or move Welbeck to the middle and play Ale Mac. Also, Gross is a waste playing wingback. Hopefully next week we can have Webster back so Veltman can go back there.

I think we may rest Maupay and Wellbeck for the Chelsea game. Let Zeqiri run the channels and put AliMac on too. The game against Sheffield United is more winnable. I think we may move Webster back into the defence too and push Veltman to RWB and Burn as LWB. Try to frustrate Chelsea. I pretty certain there will be changes for Chelsea.

Does he still have another year on contract? If so, I suspect it’s putting on shop window display.

No his contract is up in the summer and he’s a free agent. He’s only 28 so I expect he’ll get a deal somewhere, but on considerably less $$$ than he’s been earning with us for the last 4 years.

That was a game we hoped to win but weren't going to lose. that's how we played and that's the result job done.

This is against a team who have spent silly money compared to us and forget their injury shite ,we have one as well so do one.

The best player on the park was one of ours, if he goes it will be for oodles of money, all's good

Nothing. You’re right staying up is all that matters. However from a league point of view that’s zero progression after two Potter years.

I know GP has been heavily backed by TB but if we’re still in the same situation next Xmas then the mood music is likely to change.

I think we’ll lose at Chelsea. Remember it’s Chelsea. We have never and can never expect to beat Chelsea at SB. When we lose it’s because they’re a top side with millions worth of talent etc. Forget West Brom thrashed them. Just so long as we remember we’re little old Brighton and only hope and pray for a point at most we shall be fine. And it makes the crawl to the finish even more exciting, especially if rivals win and start free scoring. 0-0 and 1-1 is the way to go. Solid. Steady. Progressive. Who enjoys winning when you can draw way to safety and stay in with a chance of relegation with a couple of games still to go?

Izzy hasn’t played competitive football for 2 years...

Why he’s on the bench I don’t know. But I’d rather put Zequiri or Big Mac on over him.

Probably to ‘feel part of the squad’. We’ve done it with other players this season already, with no chance of getting on the pitch.

The way I look at it, Potter (obviously with a lot of help) has taken pretty much the oldest team in the EPL, and turned it into one of the youngest. In less than two seasons. And we now have some VERY saleable assets in Bissouma and White, plus some decent prospects (Moder, MacAllister, Karbownik, Caicedo, Lamptey, Sanchez, etc). A lot's changed (positively).

Going by the commentary on Sporting Life it would seem that we did everything but score again.
Off to work soon but will watch replay on return. One more point gained and I might put a bet on Fat Sam pulling off survival at WBA.

Unbelievable that having seen so many fans bang on about game management all season that when Potter does decide to settle for a valuable point his critics get all arsey about it it. If CH was still manager they would have taken that as a well earned point

Now that is a FACT!

Its how he played his 'game management hand' that people feel concerned about, Ali J is not defensively minded and not sharp enough to win the game in 5 mins , BDB is better going forward than defending but mediocre at both . Clearly we don't know the situation with Webster or Izzy but Zequiri is well worth 15 mins and MacAllister would have put fresh legs on both should be higher up the pecking order. As it was we nearly lost that. Personally I probably would have left it alone so late on it needed change if we wanted to win around 70 mins.

Staying up is all that matters at this point, we very seldom play ugly, but from my perspective that team tonight were determined not to lose. What’s to criticise about that?

We are a point closer to safety and barring an absolute miracle from one or more of the bottom three we are edging towards another season at the top table. We are not out of the mix though and that was a decent, if not thrilling performance imo
We all said the same last season  zero improvement in the final third, definitely defensive and midfield improvement results wise no improvement.

Just want to say that I am very happy with a point at this stage. I think we're nearly there. I hope so.

At the end of my tether
Many of us said beforehand that we would take a point out of this.......well, we got one. Of course we wanted to win but it seems that Everton crowded out their defence and did it well. A good point, I believe. We are now 15th and Chelsea awaits. In the past that may have been a no hope fixture but not now.
Onwards and upwards!

A most forgettable match. Everyone seems jolly happy with a point. Especially our relegation rivals. And who are we to expect more. Little old Brighton versus mighty Everton. Even without their top striker it’s magnificent not to receive an absolute thrashing. Ring the church bells, we drew nil nil with the toffee men!

Apologies if I'm wrong but I suspect a bit of irony or sarcasm in your post.
But in reality it is one of the most complimentary and realistic comments on here following the game.

We were without three of our regular starters yet we were the side mostly on the front foot.
Playing against a side with one of the best coaches in the world, who are pushing for Europe, and with one of the countries biggest budgets and richest owners.

Graham Potter is one of the best young coaches in Europe and is going to keep our small club in the world's toughest division for another season. Doing this while gradually developing and introducing young players like Moder, Sanchez and Lamptey and helping establish Bissouma as one of the Premier League's most sought after players.

I'm very happy with Little Old Brighton taking a point off the Mighty Everton. This morning I feel like ringing the church bells because I am jolly happy feeling it was a significant result in our season that almost makes us safe.

It was yet another very encouraging performance. GP is continuing to develop one of the youngest Premier League squads and I feel that Tony Bloom's vision of Brighton becoming a top ten PL side is realistic.

And that is without discussing the talent in our Under-23 squad. What a brilliant time to be a Brighton fan.

Now, which way to the church? Ring those bells!

I avoided this place after half time and enjoyed the game, pretty entertaining and stress free. It was quite predictable, a point is better than none and keeps us ticking along. If we can do the same next week it'd be great, but I don't suppose we'll keep a clean sheet against Chealski.

It feels like we’re a real Prem side now though. We can go to Old Trafford, to Anfield, anywhere and give any team a game.

That’s the difference GP and the club has made. I think he’s still learning as are our young team. Feels like we’re moving in the right direction.

Yeah - such a mindset shift.

I now feel like we can play anyone (bar perhaps City when they're on one) and give them a proper game with a genuine chance of a result. Not felt that until this season.
