Dunk said, in his post match interview, when he approached the ref he told him not to worry as he was going to give it. Guess it was just the ref being courteous to the Lino.

In fairness to the lino, looking at the MotD highlights, it looks like he immediately says it's a goal when the ref gets to him so he probably realised his mistake, too.

Lino couldn’t see who the ball forward came off.......so he was probably right to flag......very good reffing.

Good performance today.

For all those fixtures where we bemoan our bad luck... today lady luck was on our side.

On another day, the goal would have been disallowed, Everton's two attempts that hit the woodwork would have gone in, and Bernard would have finished his run with a top corner goal, and we would have lost 3-0.

... but it didn't.

Today was another demonstration of how brilliant the Dunk & Duffy partnership are. On days like today they're almost inpenetrable. We've missed them throughout the last few fixtures.

I thought this one was harder than the Arsenal game, and it would have been fairer if the results were reversed.

I'm not so sure we were lucky with the goal, I'm pretty sure the ref knew it wasn't offside as the ball clearly came off their defender but he had to talk to the linesman to explain why it was a goal. The linesman had also lowered his flag almost straight away as I think he realised.

It was a bloody awful corner and we had two strikers that would normally have been caught offside.

Flukey goal but that is what happens when under pressure, the attacking side has greater odds of getting a lucky break. (As we know being on the receiving end.)

Yes, but Gaz was pointing out that we weren't lucky the goal was given. The fact we were lucky that Everton defended poorly wasn't in question.

No way was it lucky , or flukey , the Newcastle goal a couple of seasons was , and the corner was in the right area to put their defence under pressure, which they then made a mistake from
