Los of people say you can’t celebrate goals due to VAR. Didn’t seem to stop anyone today.

Yeah, they're largely wrong. If you're watching the game, you can generally tell whether or not it's going to be a tight call.

Well, that's right up there with my favourite goal celebrations.

1, 2, 3, 4, Game Over.

Worth a GIF.

Probably thinking why didn’t RDZ play that side against Luton.
Luton were way above CPFC in every aspect and we couldn't match it and that was massively helped by 2 goals in first 3 minutes. Similarly our performance today was boosted by that early goal.

What on earth were they doing with Olise? Someone seriously has to have a think there...9 minutes and a wasted sub to find out he isn't ready?? I feel Roy's pain there...

I don't.
It was utterly moronic. Roy knew he was hobbled in the week, wasn't fit enough to start, so it was a massive risk to put him on. The compounding factor was we'd already batted them out of the game - did he really think Olise would single-handedly turn that round ??

If RDZ threw on a semi-fit Mitoma in a game where we'd already been gubbed, I'd lose my shit.

Brighton’s fans ironically cheered as Olise made clear he could not continue, 10 minutes after coming on. Then, they turned their attention to Hodgson. “Super Roy Hodgson,” “Roy Hodgson, we want you to stay,” and “Hodgson, give us a wave,” they sang. The relentless mocking was not unexpected, but given the context, it stung that little bit more. Even Hodgson admitted it hurt him.

Lovely stuff.

Surely Roy is working on the advice of his medical staff and the player himself? Olise was warming up right in front of us for most of the half time break, he didn't know then he couldn't run?

Sorry forgot to say, Roy isn't stupid, if he wasn't ready in the week, what is the point of putting him even on the bench?

To be fair to Roy there he can’t win. If he’s on the bench unused and they get stuffed then he gets shit for not using him and trying to win the game.

Not wildly different to RDZ using Pervis against Ajax after he’d had a lay off and then went off shortly after injured, which was a pretty pointless sub for where we were in the game

That’s on the medical staff. Presumably he had some sort of fitness test though?

Have to say it’s not dissimilar to what happened to us when Pervis came on and went off injured in Amsterdam. Except I’ve never seen Palace in the Dam.

I hope those who left their seats early were allowed to leave. They’d likely have been able to channel the trains that bought them here.

Neither do I, but if we win, I read through the whole lot afterwards :)
Yeah me too, just not every comment registers when it's not in real time as you don't always get the context. And my memory and attention span are shit too. I usually leave the thread before kickoff, so picking up where I left off is a great way to re-experience the match.

I mostly read the losing ones back too, but maybe a day or 2 later, when I'm over it! I find some of the in-the-moment ranting and doom mongering mildly amusing once I have that distance :)
