A keeper crisis at Palace - good news huh?

Well unfortunately this IS Palace so frankly they could turn up with eight fit players with a kangaroo in goal, with the rest of the team tied together by their shoe laces for the entire game, have only 3% possession and register zero shots on goal against 47 from Albion and still scrape a 1-1…

There IS NO GOOD NEWS when we play Palace
A one all draw? Naive optimist. It'll be an injury-time Zahaha scoreline breaker.

Adam Lallana was just on Sky Sports News being interviewed live from the Amex about various bits and pieces, and the lack of senior goalie for them lot was mentioned at the end. Their choice of academy keeper will have an inevitable world I fear. I'm working tonight so not at the Amex - will be trying to keep up with the game via the radio.

"Patrick Vieira and Crystal Palace have been dealt a major injury blow ahead of this [Wednesday] evening’s Premier League clash at fierce rivals Brighton & Hove Albion.. First-choice keeper Vicente Guaita has been ruled out after he picked up a late hamstring injury.
The injury to the Spanish stopper means the Eagles will be without a senior goalkeeper for the game at the Amex."

This was sent from the heavens to counter all the negative, fearful thinking expressed in this thread. Surely....surely.....this gives us a massive hoodoo smashing advantage??

If we don’t get a cricket score now RDZ is getting boo’d out the ground.

Which is exactly why it will spur them on. They will have a gem of a keeper in their reserves who is about to make a name for himself with one of the greatest goalkeeping performances the world has ever seen.

He'll probably pop up at the end to tap in an injury time winner from a late late corner.

If this was us with the goalie injuries, and one of our accademy goalkeepers had to play, we would all be rightly concerned a really bad result could completly ruin his confidence and be a major set back- have to feel a bit sorry for the lad

I remeber a similar thing years ago in a league game (not us), when a young goalie came in last minure, let 7 or 8 in, came off the pitch in tears but was MOM as none of the goals were his fault, and he made some great saves keeping the score below double figures- cant remeber who it was mind

Maybe they will play rush-goalie ?

I'm FULL of positivity with this - I predict WHOEVER plays in goal for them tonight will end the match with severe back-ache from bending down to pick the ball out of the back of the net ....

Nervous but actually feeling very confident. Players will want to prove a point after both the away game and last weekend and RDZ seems to hold grudges which is a good thing in football. Early goal and it's an absolute drubbing.
