Hoddle’s analysis been very good. Never sure why everyone hates him. Called it early that our shape was wrong with a diamond giving their fullbacks too much space, then again when we went 4-4-2 that it would give Jorginho too much space, and now we’re 4-5-1 we’re doing much better. He knows the game well.

We’ve also seen that throughout the season at times, the space down the flanks eaten up by opposing wide players who can’t believe their luck.

We're off the pace but grew towards the end. At the end of the day, it's Chelsea, we need to back the team and support them.

Funny half that. Mr Potter realised very quickly it was a wrong formation, but I'm afraid he was a tad slow to change it. It seemed to take an injury to shake everyone up. We'll have to watch we don't get caught on the break whilst we're pushing to get an equaliser

We seem to have forgotten how to score - or threaten - from corners methinks.???

Grew a bit into it after an atrocious first half hour, but still not got the game by the scruff of the neck.

I like him, but i'm struggling to see where to play Alzate - he doesn't have the physicality for a CM role, not as creative as the likes of Mooy (tho few are), doesn't seem to like shooting first-time (and when he does it seems to lack pace) but also not the pace to be a winger. It's a tough one as he's clearly a good player.

Here's hoping he proves me wrong now :lolol:

Getting a first goal will help enormously.

Well that as very flat for a good 30 minutes. Got a bit better the last 10-15. If Maupay is to have any chance against Zouma and Rudiger he needs players up with him and for that to happen we need to be able to keep hold of the ball and assert some kind of control in midfield. We had that in the last ten minutes or so, presumably a formation change/tweak? It's difficult to tell on my stream.

a point would actually take us above Burnley!

That's what I meant and 3 would take us right up at least for a few hours.
If we was playing with the same formation and pace as we did against Bournemouth we would be doing far better than we are.
Chelsea are decent but we are allowing them to do what they want but we are bit better in the last 15 minutes.
What's in the pies today, superglue?

I’m not sure what Potter thought when he picked a diamond today, but it took far too long to change and he’s not got the wrong players in the wrong positions as a result. He’ll learn that you don’t always need to over complicate, of course, but he did over think this massively today.

Good first half, don't know how some can be very negative - playing a very even game against this kind of opposition.

Don't want any half time subs but it's not like I would cry if Montoya or Propper was brought off... both make me very annoyed sometimes.

I must say I also have no clue what position Bissouma is supposed to play in but from his game so far I see both why you would pick him over Stephens and why you wouldn't.

Trossard started weak but got more involved the last ten. Maupay is excellent as usual. Alzate brilliant. Could see us score in the second.

I would still put Connolly on alongside Maupay. It’s our best percentage chance of a goal, no point losing this 1-0, sacrifice one of Biss or Alzate

Diamond in midfield went to 433 with Mooy right and Trossard left.

Personally, I think we are really missing Stephens today. Much maligned player as opposed to the love in that Propper gets even though he generally does nothing of note!

This.

Adored Propper because of all his goals and assists, and great pace as a DM sitter. Or not.

Funny the game people see isn’t it. Alzate was our weakest player for 30 minutes and Propper one of our best considering he had no players to pass to for a large portion of the half. And Maupay has been excellent? When did that happen?
