I am astounded that any Albion fan can complain about what we’ve seen so far apart from not scoring. We have been excellent and playing some lovely football
I think it's the effect of cumulative frustrations. At the moment, we'd probably accept a crap performance with a win - rather than an excellent performance, lovely football and more dropped points.

But we haven't been winning games since we have gone back to a 'trying to walk it into the net' outfit over the last month.
Whatever happened in the last month, playing the ball to a player in a good position to score a goal is more efficient than "shooting on sight".

Anyway, think you'll get what you want in the second half. For the last 10 minutes people didn't really bother making runs into the penalty box. The ball will end up with Enciso who will either take a desperate shot, hold onto the ball looking for an attempt for a desperate shot (and then putting in a too late cross when seeing there's no angle at all) or dribble to try and find a way to make a desperate shot.

Super fun for the fans that gets to go "oooh" eight times in a half but incredibly frustrating for the other players of course.

I don't think Enciso has been bad overall tonight, he's looked energetic, done some good runs and even passed the ball a couple of times, but for each passing of the first half he turned more and more into the guy who stands around outside the penalty box waiting for a chance to miss.

SO painful now watching O'Riley shirk resposnsbility and not shoot. He was one of the few with conviction first half and now he has chosen to bottle it.

I think Enciso has been decent.

He's looked lively as usual and got in good positions. Yes he's scuffed a couple shots (and hit the post) but he's bound to be rusty with lack of game time.

This game is evidence he needs more minutes and DEFINITELY not sold.

The age old transfer question (going back to the Potter days) …. is there a decent striker available? When we thought we were amazing in the autumn, any injury to Welbeck was the main concern.

The difference between 6th and 11th, possibly.
I kinda agree, but I kinda don't too...

Welbeck is fantastic and much-missed, but he's not an out-and-out goalscorer - never has been.

We thought Ferguson was, and he may still be, and hoped that free from injury he would be able to progress this season. He hasn't - not yet anyway.

Pedro was our chief goalscorer last season, but rarely gets on the end of our attacks of late.

Which brings us to this particular game. Our first half xG was still under one but, of those half-chances, I can't remember any falling to Pedro - in the striker position tonight.

Zero ideas in the final third. Under Potter we created loads but couldn’t score them, under RDZ we created loads and scored them, now we don’t create hardly anything meaningful, it’s all individual moments of brilliance or a mistake from the opposition.

But why didn't they fall to Pedro? Is it because other players are desperate to score and make the wrong decision?
