Nah, he saved well from Caicedo and a diving save kept AliMac out as well. He had a great game
You may be right ill have to watch it back but they all looked like pretty standard saves from where I was at.

Bit surprised by the negativity, although it was my first game since 2019 and I thought it was exhilarating! Would have taken the point at the beginning of the day.

It does - not sure of the wording of the rule, but a standard handball or foul is just a pen, but bringing down a player who is about to slot it into an empty net, or stopping the ball going into the net with your hands, is a straight red. The argument for it being a yellow is that we're not sure he was scoring - the fact that it was deliberately and he was likely to score means I think it should be a red, but I concede I am biased.
I assume he gave the benefit of the doubt about whether it was on purpose, but I have no doubt he meant it.

Interesting. That’s a high number.

Out of interest, what was our xGA?
It’s a very annoying 1.28.

For what it’s worth, Steele has conceded 6 with a total XGA of 3.56 in his 5 PL starts. Jury is definitely still out for me on whether or not he deserves to keep his spot as starting keeper over Sanchez.

Small correction: I mistakenly gave Steele the 0-1 Fulham game. He’s therefore conceded 5 with XGA of 3.31.

It was inside the box, arm extended. A clear penalty imo and by the look on his face, also in their player's opinion. Not given because we'd only just been given one. Poor decision.🤬
I could see it was a penalty from the half way line. His arm was extended and not tucked in. It was clear as day to see. A penalty all day long. I can accept in non VAR times referee mistakes happen. When you have several officials watching slow motion replays from multiple angles, which is literally their only job to intervene in these match changing decisions, there is simply no excuse not to give a penalty. I am absolutely fuming. I feel cheated. I can’t imagine watch the Brighton players and coaching staff feel. An inexcusable decision.

Brighton manager Roberto de Zerbi, speaking to BBC Match of the Day:"It's a great point because the football is like this, we deserved to win. We shot I don't know how many times - in two games with them, I don't know, maybe 50 or 60 times but at the end, one point is great.

"There are a lot of games until the end of the season and we will going forward playing like today because we played in a fantastic way. I can say nothing about my players because I am very pleased with their performance.

"I'm enjoying a lot, I love these players, I love this team. We conceded three goals... very, very incredible. I don't think Brentford know how they scored the goals and we have to improve in these situations but there was only one team on the pitch.

"If you attack, you can concede some goals. That isn't a problem because it is impossible to not concede goals home or away. But the way we did was bad. Set pieces for the first and last. The second? I don't understand. It is difficult to accept and understand this goal."

On a second handball: "I don't know. In the last minute of game we were trying to win the game and it was going in our direction. But the whole trend of the game was for us."

On getting into Europe: "If you watch and analyse the game, we're a very good team, a tough team with good players. So I think so."

Just got back, notes.

Atmosphere was decent in the most part which I think helped us claw it back

Great character to go behind 3 times and get something out of the game

Inspired subs - big balls

Sloppy at the back, I didn’t even see the their third due to people still returning to their seats - will have to watch the highlights.

Missed quite a number of clear scoring chances, 15 on target though is the difference to last season

Enciso looked lively and made a difference when he came on

Had my first Amex coffee 6/10

Managed to scout our next season seats before the game, just to make sure!

What a day

6th with games in hand, we’ve had worse days

Tuesday night I feel is key if we want to play in Europe next season

Michael Oliver - another below par performance, shameless

'The home side are dominating possession and creating chances but they just cannot score.'

- Comment on the BBC live reporting on the Chelsea v. Aston Villa game.

Ah, the good old days!

Watching Chelsea v Villa.
I watched our game at the Amex and thought Villa were really lucky and cynical.
Chelsea with millions more worth of players and Potter as coach seem clueless and cannot score or really create good chances,.

Shocking judgement from Steele to take the back pass even though he was somewhat set up. Made up for it but MOM Welbeck 10/10 he is world class. Loved the "shit DW" chant at IT.

To come behind 3 times against one of our main rivals for a European spot and score so late on is a point gained at the end of the day but we should have won that 3-0 . Dunk had a very rare off day shit happens but the main thing is we didn’t lose
Doesn't this belong in the 2 points dropped vs 1 point gained thread? Or did that one not get started yet?
