I feel oddly negative about this one (I say oddly considering our recent smashing form and Villa’s dismal away record). I am worried about the Emery ‘bounce‘ because unlike say Everton or West Ham, I regard Villa as having a really high quality group of players who are miles below their potential.

I reckon there’s a tough afternoon ahead….

Bang up for it. And I hope the crowd turn up on a misty day in Sussex. I'll be doing my bit from the west upper but it would be good giving everyone a good send off with positive vibes for the world cup break. Can't help thinking a lot of transfer activity will rule place in the coming weeks as the WC effectively gives agents a 6 week free hit to start shìt stirring and negotiating.

Bad juju for this one.

It's THAT game isn't it?
The 'just one more win' game, the game for which we never quite show up.

Not helped by Villa's away record.
Yes stat it most certainly is "one of those". However ,today, instead of being nervous i feel excited and up for it. Come on the Albion lets send those villains packing and enter the ridiculous enforced break on a high! I believe we can do it................................believe it to!

More positive than usual and expecting a big win, maybe 4-0. I never say that. Sadly that also probably means we’ll get beaten by the ref, a pen and a red card.

Early pint but more time for a post matcher as well. Will be lots of coaches today (more Villa fans seem to use coaches than any other away club) so will be a nice delay leaving in my ST coach.

Will be a challenging match which I’m looking forward to.

Just realised this will be my last home game until January 14, unless we get a home draw in the FA cup,

World Cup / sky tv scheduler out

I don’t know why but this fixture has me more on edge than any other game so far this season - perhaps it because of our history of playing better when we’re the underdog or self-harming when we are close to breaking our own records (a win for the Cottagers pl 🙏🏼), today’s opponents having new manager bounce etc etc This is not a logical concern - we are more than good enough to crush Villa based on our recent form. Phew, there …. feel better already …🙂

That's years of Pavlovian disappointment training for you. Definitely agree they have a decent squad compared to other strugglers.

I'd prefer a draw, to be honest.

Need to catch up with Newcastle as much as we can.

If we even want to think about European football, we’ll need to either best Newcastle or a member of the big six. Finishing 7th is hard.

Or it won’t matter when we win the league cup I spose.

Really tough game today, harder than Chelsea.

Villa are on a high now and have an excellent manager who will have them really well organised and difficult to break down. This is the sort of home game we’ve struggled in over the last 2/3 years.

Wouldn’t be surprised if it’s a draw and would be quite happy with that TBH.

yes, you’re right - lost track of the maths, a draw at the C would be better, we could still go above Man U on GD if we win - if we draw and Fulham win we’re back down to 8 - if we loose and Fulham draw we stay at 7 (have I got that right now!?🤗)
