The fact that people on a Brighton board can't agree if it should've been a pen or not says it all.

You could tell the Sky presenter (David Jones) thought it was dodgy. But the only two people he had to ask about it were Karen Carney (useless) and Theo Walcott (ex-Arsenal). Big 6 bias off the pitch too.

Can’t believe anyone seriously thinks that isn’t a penalty. We’d be going absolutely mad if it wasn’t given for us. It’s stonewall.

The ‘got the ball’ argument is ridiculous. If you kick the ball away cleanly and then smash the attacker in the face with a brick, it’s still a penalty.
No chance, got a touch on the ball. Look at Howard’s Webb comments on Doku against Liverpool

Eh? You don’t have to hit the centre of the ball for it to be contact. He got the ball but the Arsenal player then makes the most of the contact and as the ref has given Arsenal virtually every decision this half, why change the habit.
It’s been an entirely biased performance by the ref and Alan Smith’s commentary has been nauseatingly biased.
Having said that Arsenal have been the better team but I think we’ve done ok.
I’d love it, love it ( in a Kevin Keegan type way) if we got a last second equaliser to f@ck up Arsenal’s title challenge.
You do realise that touching the ball doesn't stop it being a free kick. law 12 doesn't mention anything about touching or not touching the ball. That bit only exists in peoples minds.

All the officials are shocking though. The linesman at the North end had a total mare. Wonder why 🤔

We are creating chances ( Enciso’s attempt a case in hand) we are mostly just squandering them with poorly timed crosses, a couple of poor finishes from Danny and bad decisions by Adingra mostly.
Yeah Adingra hasn't been great for awhile now. He's lost confidence

Big team biased ref (not disputing the penalty but every 50/50 to Arsenal) and a commentary/pundit team that includes Alan Smith, Karen Carney and Theo Walcott, all ex Arsenal. Sky going all in on Arsenal

Come on Albion let’s f*** it up for them

Just says that 30k people can watch the same thing and come to different conclusions. Part of the bizarre beauty of football
I wonder how many of the ‘it’s stonewall’ brigade are watching at home. In real time even on the tele my first reaction was penalty. The replays, however, are telling. Quite a big touch from Lamptey.

I think we're actually doing ok and fancy us to score at least one,now wether we can keep them out I'm not sure they seem to have so much space in behind Estupinan, not easy playing against 12 though is it.

Trying to be balanced, the Arse missed at least 3 sitters, and we did our best to gift them another one. We could be 0-3 down or 1-3.

I'm optimistic. We've broken their press nicely, we just need to capitalise.

No, it isn’t. You do realise that not all fouls are decided upon whether the player got a slight touch of the ball or not?

If we were given a Pen like that and it was overturned, I'd be annoyed.
Other than that, the ref has been crap. Twice he played advantage to us when we were chopped, and chooses not to go back and book the players.
Hate to admit it, but they are a bloody good side, we're struggling with their inticrate passing in the box.

If he'd missed the ball it would. But he didn't. He played ball and Jesus threw himself over his legs as any striker would.

Short of Lamptey stepping aside and letting him run through, there is nothing more he can do, it's a contact sport, he played BALL first. No studs up, nothing.

That isn't a penalty.
He was done like a kipper. Honestly the penalty discussions on NSC are totally divorced from reality
