Arsenal's last game was against west ham (5-1),
We last played them last season and lost (6-0), giving a total of 11-1...

Our last game was against Blackburn (1-1),
Arsenal last played them last season and won (7-1), giving a total of 8-2.

Adding these together gives us a predicted scoreline of Brighton 3 - 19 Arsenal.

Spanish Egyptian Incident (on a Roll)

In which case, I'd say it's a ** match for Arsenal in terms of competition, but **** for importance, so *** on average.

Fair comment. I am not party to Arsenal thinking. I see it as the old style of Arsenal vs the new up and going Albion. If Wenger loses there will be big calls for change. Important repercussions. They will want to play down the game.

No more cheese rolls from Spanish Dave. It is not on UK TV.

Voting is public. We can see the doom merchants.

But then again we beat Chelsea 3-1 and Arsenal lost to them 2-1, which makes 5-2 in our favour.

I predict this:

- We come out like a rocket - Arsenal sit back
- We score in this early period of the game
- The first half will be largely pedestrian from both sides
- We will miss 3 glorious opportunities to score
- Look for all the world we have the game under control until about 60 mins
- Concede 3 goals
- Lose.

Pessimistic? You betcha!

Some Arsenal stats. The page says they play 4-2-3-1 which is like Hodgson used against the weaker teams. I don't think it is a good system. It can wear the other team down a bit.

Arsenal in FA Premier League 2012/2013 matchday 1

I would play a Capello style 4-4-2 against this. This means Buckley is not a definite starter.

I have a sneaky suspicion that we will not be playing 4-4-2.

Hoping to continue our glorious run of draws, although I think they (and Gus' tactics) will demolish us.

Topic made 24 HOURS before ? Though we did win our last game with a poll so that could be a good omen.

2-1 Arsenal - if we got a draw that would be a great result quite frankly.

Have you ever tried to chase a haggis around a left-footed mountain top?

If we went 4-0 up, would you fancy our chances?

Reading vs Arsenal in League Cup 2012/2013

There is a bit of a wind chill out there today. With the results Arsenal have had this season, it is difficult to see how we can rock their boat?

4-0 up at 30 minutes, not so sure.
4-0 up at 85 minutes, I'd be pretty sure we're gonna win.

Ridiculous thread:
- 5 stars on one side of 'Official Match Day Thread' and 4 on the other.
- No 'FC's
- Also, it's not even the match day.
- A POLL, WHAT IS THIS?!

Because of this, 5-1 Arsenal. Tough afternoon for the 'gulls.
That's the real shocker for me.

0-9

Arteta (Arsenal) and Bruno (Albion) are both missing through injury.

That leaves Santi Cazorla, Ignasi Miquel

Orlandi, Vicente and Calderón in contention for places.

From 1976 until 2010, the Spanish magazine Don Balón conferred the Don Balón Award (Premio Don Balón) to the best Spanish player, the best foreign player, the best referee, and the breakthrough player in La Liga.

Gustavo Poyet has built an impressively flexible side at Brighton, shifting between a flat 4-4-2 and a more nuanced 4-3-3 in recent weeks. Although he used the former shape in the 2-0 win over Newcastle in the third round, a 4-3-3 appears more likely to cope with Arsenal’s intricate midfield passing.

However, the presence of a couple of versatile players allows Poyet to switch between the two systems with the same starting XI. Andrea Orlandi can play on the left of a four-man midfield or as one of three central players, while Ashley Barnes can be an outside left or a second striker.

Brighton will keep Arsenal guessing, and Poyet has the squad depth to produce a surprise selection

I've decided I DEFINITELY want a 4-4-2. Bridcutt and Hammong sitting in DM and Orlandi/Lopez wide midfielders that can help against Sanga/Jenkinson and Gibbs when they come forward. Buckley up front making runs, with CMS chasing down anything that moves. Ulloa and Vicente subs bench to come on at 65 minutes.

1-0 in the bag
