McBilly is still a schoolboy, in terms of football. Give him a year or two and his judgement will surely get better. Problem is, he'll get left behind with the talented kids we've got!

The light show has got to go in the bin. Absolutely tinpot. We're well on the way to goal music. Grump grump
I'm usually fine with most things people will label as cringe or tinpot but f*** me that was a joke.

End of a game we've fought hard to win against time wasting niggly bastards with another episode of incompetent referring and rather than let us have an organic celebration they put on some ridiculous disco show?

Tinpot. As you say.

This. B'muff surprised me in how well they played when they went forward and had a couple of good chances . But . . . but we should have been 2-0 up by half-time. Winning ugly sometimes is still a win. We can't play sublime football all the time, mores the pity.
These games are always going to be much tougher than yhose against the failing rich clubs who think they just need to turn up for the 3 points

Thoroughly deserved win. Bournemouth were well organised and useful on the counter attack, but were there to sit back and grind out a 0-0. Thought the goalie saved the Mitoma goal, was a bit confused when people started celebrating, but a great moment nevertheless and a deserved goal to end the game. If Welbeck could actually finish we’d be in the top 4! Guy does everything you want but score!

FWiw without reading the whole thread. Just got home and my thoughts from the WU were.

1. Good teams find a way to win when they're playing badly so happy with the result and great atmosphere at the end.

2. Not sure about that formation at all. Seemed like a dirty protest to begin with. Very slow centre mid and slow forward line, and bringing solly inside to make room for Lamptey seemed to be really poor use or our resources that have served so well. I assume there was a tactical reason for it, or some of the nuances of being a manager - I.e. wanting to reward decent trainers like undav and Gilmour etc, which is fair enough.

3. Best players were Dunk and Pervis for me. I think I might love Pervis a bit.

4. I'm sure there will be plenty slagging off Gilmour but there is a real player there. I felt like he is trying to hard to take his chance when he gets it and looks to play perfect balls all the time, but he's exceptional on the ball. I wonder of he's not suited to a 2 in midfield. Especially when the other one is Gross. More of a Joe Allen type.

5. Undav. Not for me I'm afraid so far. I like his endeavour and some.decent touches and hes got a snapshot on him but watching him trundle back and forth in the second half it really felt like a waste. Creates a huge gap between a slow midfield and slow strikers. Made even more pertinent by the excellent Sarmiento when he came on. If sarmiento is the future lallana he needs more time on the pitch.

Bring back Praise you at the final whistle.
I guess the club will come out with some guff about family atmosphere and all that when they are challenged about it. In which case FBS could be the compromise. But clapping the players - however tragic it is to applaud a bunch of millionaires who would leave for a better offer at the drop of a hat - has been a thing from goalless draws at Belle Vue to here, and it's f***ing with our culture to impose an artificial atmosphere no-one asked for and turn the place into a chav fairground at the end.

Absolute shit and totally killed the natural end-of-game atmosphere after scoring a last minute winner. Wtf was the point of it - wasn't even good!?

Edit to be fair to BHA though it seems to be a PL thing - seen it at loads of grounds this season especially, as well as bloody fireworks etc

I am sure that someone will make the point that under Potter there were several games like these, that ended 0-0 (or even 0-1) whereas today we managed to get the late winner.
Maybe RdZ is just a luckier manager (at the moment at least) than GP. (Checks the Chelsea v Fulham score again)

Not for me, Clive.

I think passion and spirit is hugely useful for grinding out results when playing poorly. Winning mentality creates winners.
