Anyone know why those two blokes in the south stand were ejected by the police? Stewards and police involved, about 15 minutes in to the first half.

It happened in the row in front of me and it was only the one bloke ejected.

He was an older bloke, probably in his 50’s, who refused to sit down despite being asked to nicely by other fans around him. Kids sitting behind him couldn’t see the game so a female steward came down and asked him to sit down. He refused, pointing to the Ajax fans and moaning that they weren’t sitting down (as if they were obstructing his view🙄) so why should he? This went on for a while with fans around him and behind him getting more agitated so the steward called for back up. By the time the senior steward and OB turned up, he’d sat down but then refused to leave when asked by them to go and have a chat so they attempted to eject him, at which point he started filming them.

They finally got him out and he never returned. Utter bellend for missing a game like that (and hopefully plenty more) all for being a twat!

Another of life’s mysteries solved, thanks. The incident seemed to take a while to sort out, I wondered initially if someone had taken ill, then saw him being escorted out (it looked like two of them leaving but it was probably someone else going for a pee or something). Must have been very distracting when you were trying to concentrate on the game.

Sounds like he was old enough to know better, the silly sausage.

He was indeed. There’s been a few of them in that area in both EL games. Fair play to the female steward for not putting up with it.
