The only decision by RDZ that annoyed me was playing Milner at RB with Gross on the right of midfield. He already saw that doesn’t work, he doesn’t have the legs for RB. TBH I really think he should be a defensive sub when we are protecting game and not a starter.

The other changes were ok, risky to start Fati and Igor for their first games but they are both experienced in Europe and the was a risk that was only taken because Dunk and Ferguson were out. Taking risks is what makes RDZ so good but sometimes they will fail.

Veltman is a proper full back, Milner isn't. We play better when Veltman is in the team he just understands the position.

Completely baffling to have Milner play there rather than Velts

They weren’t great and I’m not sure we were much better. There fans were good value.

I’m not his biggest fan but the game was absolutely screaming out for Lallana to up the tempo. It was like watching us under Poyet.

I thought the same mid match. He instinctively drives us forward and creates, a wealth of experience. Acting before any ten man defence is set.

That was mitoma’s worst match in a Brighton shirt, I think. Shocking marking for the first goal. Gave the ball away badly for the third. Messed up two very easy crosses after doing the tricky bit of beating the defender. I would not be shocked to see Adingra start on Sunday.

Tbf he had two men to mark and it was a ridiculous header. But yeah apart from that, not great. Off night for a lot of players and picking Milner over Joel. Not our night.

Why would nobody shoot ffs. Felt like we were trying to walk it in at times, like the Arsenal of old. Little flicks and dummies that rarely came off.

Gross had a couple of shots that the keeper just pushed out and Adingra's great strike. It was obvious from them that their keeper wasn't great so why not shoot more around the box

Just back soaked to the bone , 1st goal complete disaster no one marking him , 3rd goal folded like a cheap suit , Pedro for us different class, their number 5 ran the game for them , Fatti and Gilmour night to forget and our back 4 jeez, their fans never stopped loved the Greek free from desire , our fans seemed to be day trippers

I don't want Milner starting anytime soon, I'm sure he is a nice guy and all, but Veltman is so much better.

Also Igor wasn't great, and Dunk is a significantly better player but we all know that.

No idea where it went wrong but we just lost to a team who are Championship League at best.
We just don't play against teams who don't press and pack midfield.
Solly and Mitoma sadly weren't really at the races tonight and yet they were always the easy outlet.
Was tonight and indication that we will take the Premier more serious than Europa League.

As others have said Milner is abysmal. Nice guy to have in the changing room but he is slow and rubbish and certainly not a right back.

He doesn't think like a full back. Unless RdZ is prioritising the league, to pick him over Veltman is bizarre

I thought their keeper was good. Made some very good saves, what was wrong with him?.
