Harsh. O'Grady is proven at this level, Baldock needs a big man to play off to get the best from him and Colunga was always utilised in a more attacking-midfielder role. Give them the service and then I'll judge them.

proven based on what? What i saw last season was a shit player who had two decent games

The only problem with this point of view is the simple fact that Hughton joined in January and did none of these things.

Why would he now suddenly think 'the best way to score goals is...', having just presided over the WORST 4 MONTHS IN AMEX HISTORY.

The only thing O'Grady has proved is when he plays regularly in this division teams finish in the bottom 6. Nice guy, doesn't score goals.

Great, another winger to cross the ball to no one in particular

I havn't had time to read through everyone's responses on this but I know for sure there is something to this one. In fact I am more than 99% sure there is something in this one and that only means one thing......I'm 100% sure there s something in it.

Also I have seen Jamie play many times and he is excellent player. Can play wide right, wide left and through the middle. Not very powerful but is very skilful and a composed finisher

You'd hope we could beat Bristol City to a signing but then again last summer players chose the likes of Brentford and Charlton over us.

Bristol City have plenty of money behind them, a squad high on confidence after smashing League One last season, plenty of forward momentum & a new (redeveloped) stadium going up. I bet they're quietly thinking they could have a go for the play offs next time round- after all, Wolves and Brentford were both in contention last year.

It's also a decent place to live- so I'd imagine they'd be reasonably attractive to many players. Let's not get all sniffy about them because they were in League One until recently. They're no Rotherham.

I'm not sure that replacing one stand fits either of those definitions, unless there is more work in the pipeline.

Only someone relatively young could view Bristol City as anything other than a significant second tier concern.

It would seem the opinion on the board is that every team in the Championship can out do us in the transfer market then...

Out do us. Perhaps - its not all wages/fees after all. the manager, prospects, facilities, team mates, area. Out spend us. We're not going to be the biggest spenders this summer but most can't or won't.

COG is dog shit at championship level
(COG) is a shit player

Struggling for form, confidence, suffering from lack of service maybe. As for Champ level then played regularly in Champ now for 4 seasons. And in 2013/14 scored 15 times in a poor Barnsley team..

But. No he's not. None of our players are "shit".
I'm shit which is why i've never scored against Arsenal in the FA Cup and can't even score in my weekly 6 a side match against a load of old duffers like me.

I'm not sure. As others have noted we need a good season to secure 1901 sales due for renewal in the spring and we have bonus money from Ulloa and Buckley sales.
Our problems are competing with clubs who have upward mobility and only need one or two signings (so can spend relatively more on them) and our need after stalling badly, to make extensive additions which can mean spreading the money too thinly to attract the talents we need.
At least with Hughton back from his holidays we might now be able to compete with clubs who have jumped into the market ahead of us :lolol:

Given we normally outspend 15/16 other clubs in the division and this year Bloom has pledged to "strengthen" again then i wonder what the fans of all the other clubs are saying about their ability to compete with us on transfers, our rich owner, let alone our comfy seats and locally produced pies.

Only from the people who feel the need to post about it every 5 minutes and I suspect that their opinion will not change until we have signed someone (or perhaps more than one) from under the noses of other clubs. I do not think it is the opinion of the whole board - well not yet anyway!
