Well its that time again, its been a shit month despite all the hopes and expectations that the close season gave us. A new chairman, loads a money and a stadium, only built those dreams up, but then the football started, and we would be bottom had the power that be not deducted 10 points from our friends along the coast.

So vote now from one of the 21 luck people to represent us during August 2009

As always, Winner of the months poll as always will get 5 points for coming first, 3 points for 2nd and 1 point for 3rd
Who will take the crown from Gary Hart, winner of the last player of the month back in April.

Who will be win player of the season, after the early efforts of Glenn Murray, being enough to take him to glory ahead of Michel Kuipers last season……..

Brighton 0 - 1 Walsall
A boring game where a team won a game despite their being no shots on target in the whole game. A comedy Andy Whing own goal settled the game. Debuts for Jake Wright, Mark Wright, Navarro, Crofts, Thornhill and Dickinson.

Swansea 3 - 0 Brighton
A first round cup exit against a better team, not much happened for Brighton, and somemore comedy defending lead to a 3-0 cruising for Swansea

Brentford 0 - 0 Brighton
Brighton held on for a draw against newly promoted Brentford, apart from a disallowed effort from Crofts, no entertainment from an attacking point of view. Murray then commented the crime of the century by not applauding the travelling army of Brighton fans

Huddersfield 7 (SEVEN) - 1 Brighton
Oh dear, oh dear. Goal of the season from Dickinson with a thunderblaster volley, the rest was just terrible. El Abd being particularly bad in a sea of shite. Debut for Graeme Smith and Jamie Smith

Brighton 2 - 4 Stockport
Down to nine men, but that still didn’t deflect away from another bad performance. Forster got his forst, and Dickinson via a big deflection took our goals for the season to 3. Meanwhile at the other end, 4 more were shipped in. Debut for Tunnicliffe and Bennett

Millwall 1 - 1 Brighton
Yet more bad defending, and 1-0 down within minutes. Luckily for us, we improved, second half was our best performance of the season (probably because Dicker was running the show). Forster lucky to score through the keppers legs, but we gained another point.

I think in terms of commitment with some end product it has to be Dickenson. In terms of best display in a game I would edge back to Kuipers for winning the point at Millwall. But Dicko gets my vote.

Kuipers. Not really done anything wrong.

Dickinson? Two goals, one which took a big old deflection, isnt really player of the month stuff...

To my mind only 2 contenders Dickinson and Virgo who has been a collossus in defence so far this season.

Apart from the Huddersfield game, and the Stockport game

Stockport and Millwall games, he WASTED a dangerous free kick in a game of limited chances to actually score. Stockport, we were down to 9 and could have made it 3-3. Against Millwall we were 1-1 and he decided to shoot from 50 yards out. WASTE

Yes he is good at the back, but only when we play against teams the play long ball. Put nippy strikers upfront, and he cant cope

I voted Dickinson, then would have voted Dicker, then Kuipers

Dickinson for me. That boy is going to be good for us. A fit Forster and Dickinson will bring plenty of goals. I appreciate Nicky is getting on in years, so someone else needs to step up to the plate.
