Rather more to it than a simple (but unfortunate) hit and run then. Presumably they didn't stop as they were fleeing from their crime, and chances are, they're not from this area. It becomes a little clearer now.

The hit and run was before the robbery in Portslade, i would guess the car was stolen so they didnt stop plus the fact they are clearly complete c***s

Not the brightest of fellows are they, they steal one of the smallest cars on the road to steal wooden flooring. A estate car or a small van would have been better.

i thought i looked like wrapped wooden flooring .......what a strange thing to steal , surely the type of flooring stolen along with the pics of these two kants should jog some-ones memory......do you reckon they are english or eastern euro types...?? the numpty in the grey top looks decidedly foreign.

I was actually there that night, witnessed the whole thing. I was no more than 3 meters behind Michelle when the car hit her. ( I have given a full statement to the police.) I was able to rush over to Michelle after the events and thankfully, being Lifeguard trained was able to assume Spinal injuries and instructed others not to move her.

This was, by far the most disturbing thing I have ever seen in my lifetime. I can't imagine what Michelle and her friends and family went through. That nights events have left me very shaken and I am delighted to hear she is on the way to making a recovery.

Unfortunately I was unable to get a look at the driver or number plate of the car. (naturally all my attention was drawn to Michelle) but I was able to identify the make and colour of the vehicle. I believe that the car was almost certainly speeding.

Hope they can catch the scumbag(s) soon.

Blimey! Small world! My mum is currently in hospital and this lady in the next bed I got talking to over the last two or three weeks before her transfer was Michelle! From my limited time with Michelle who I got to know reasonably well she told me all about the hit and run.

Michelle is a lovely, caring young lady and I hope the low life are brought to justice very soon before they kill someone.

I lost my brother to a hit-and-run when he was just 16. I hope you catch the bastards. Like someone else said, their number plate is in full view so I wouldn't be surprised if they got caught very soon. Fingers crossed.

My guess is the passat was originally stolen to do the raid then having knocked someone down they needed to get rid of the car quickly, hence they found a quiet road and stole the first thing they could break into. Don't think they had much time for choice.

In the comments section of the article they mention there is an interview with Michelle today. I forgot to buy a copy, has anyone read it?

What will they be charged with when they are caught?

Lets hope these scumbags are caught asap. Like everyone, I wish your friend a speedy recovery.

Chances are, these arseholes are robbing to order? Those two are either in the building/flooring trade or they're supplying another tradesman who is. Flooring material seems an unusual thing to rob for. Small time robbers usually go for the old favourites like Booze and Fags when raiding. Stuff that is easy to turn over.

Must be stolen to order. I'd like to think a good bit of detective work will catch the scum, and hopefully those who are asking for this stuff to be nicked in the first place. Does seem a very strange thing to rob though?

One down, two to go then.

Arrested is not the same as convicted. In light of Bozza's recent problems with Plod knocking on his door, this is one of those threads that really ought be locked. If not now, then definitely as soon as someone is charged. The time for comment is after a court has delivered its verdict, when everyone is legally able to express an opinion on the established 'facts'.
