In 2021, Brighton announced a strategic partnership with Hibs - a link up which resulted in not one loan player or match taking place between the clubs

Hibs are not sectarian. Hearts have a few sectarian fans but the rivalry is not about Irish politics or religion.

Really pushing my knowledge here with who it was, but I’m guessing it didn’t help our relationship with them when about 2 weeks after the partnership was announced we loaned Hearts (they’re biggest rivals) one of our players who turned out to do quite well for them. I believe it was Cochrane?

Obviously the player part never took off, but I wonder if the staff part did? It wouldn't be something we'd hear about in the same way we'd hear about player moves and friendlies. Staff-wise, we do seem to have some sort of link with Bristol City, at least insofar as them sending people to us for training, experience and lerning how we do things.

From five years living in Edinburgh, I can state this is very much the case. Just on a smaller scale than in Glasgow; Hibs and Hearts are much smaller clubs than Celtic and Rangers, and have far fewer fans.

i was up in edinburgh last summer, and being a nosey type popped in to both grounds to have a look around - Tynecastle/Hearts i saw an open gate and headed in, i was having a look at the pitch and the stands and some officious security prick kicked me out, telling me i couldnt take any photos. Knobhead. Quite a decent ground, though.

So i walked up to Easter Road/Hibs, again saw an open gate and darted in, and the groundsman came over to say hello, showed me around a bit, and was generally lovely. Nice ground as well, very enclosed, four separate stands and quite old skool.

So hibs are very obviously a nicer club than hearts, its as simple as that! Belting pub just round the corner, Mother Superior's, very recommended

Yep, there's pages of Trainspotting hung up above the pissers, so you can have a read while having a slash. Great beer, nice food, magnificent whisky list, there's little not to like - they even had a cider from Polegate when i was in there!

Sorry, I don't accept this. Of all fans of Hearts and Hibs I've ever met, not once has sectarianism ever reared its head. Not the case with Glasgow scum twins.

As I say, if you grow in Leith you'll support Hibs and not give a toss about religion. And of course I know what Hibernia is, same as Albion is England and I'm pretty sure you don't have to be English to support Albion Rovers up there. Hibs are called that because they (not Celtic) were the first club borne out of charity for Irish immigrants. Doesn't mean they're a sectarian club.
