Brighton
Ran this through Chat GPT. If you're worried about AI taking over the world. I wouldn't worry too much just yet. I'd worry more about people stating what it says as fact. Talk about confidently incorrect.

1. First team to score three own goals in one FA Cup match
Date: 19 February 2012
Details: Liam Bridcutt (twice), Lewis Dunk (once) against Liverpool in a 6–1 defeat.

2. First English league club to install safe standing rails in a Premier League stadium
Date: Summer 2022
Details: Brighton became the first Premier League club to install rail seating (safe standing) at the Amex Stadium.

3. First top-flight club in England to have an openly gay male professional player
Date: October 2021
Details: Australian midfielder Josh Cavallo (though playing elsewhere) sparked openness discussions, and subsequently, Brighton became widely recognized for LGBTQ+ inclusivity, famously supporting events and campaigns.

4. First club to use goal-line technology in an official English match
Date: August 2011
Details: Brighton tested goal-line technology (Hawk-Eye) during a Sussex Senior Cup final against Eastbourne Borough, becoming the first English professional team to do so.

5. First professional club to have a match postponed due to a bomb scare involving their home stadium
Date: 1985 (Goldstone Ground)
Details: An anonymous bomb threat resulted in a match against Crystal Palace being postponed, an extremely rare event in English football.

6. First English professional team to have a match abandoned due to fog in the 21st century
Date: December 2016
Details: Championship match vs. Cardiff City abandoned after heavy fog prevented clear visibility.

:jester:
I'm sure one of the posters from up the road, will be on here soon, screaming Intertoto Cup. Although they lost 0-4 on aggregate so not much to shout about.

First club to release a track in the football rap genre, beating Liverpool by 5 years.

probably needs more bigging up at how GROUNDBREAKING this was. In terms of rap, Sugarhill Gang's "Rappers Delight"- seen by some as the first mainstream rap song, was released a mere 4 years earlier. Albums like "it takes a nation of millions to hold us back" by Public Enemy and "straight outta compton" by NWA were years away.

Was this the starting point of UK hip hop? of GRIME?

The report says there were 500 of us. I would have estimated quite a bit more, but memory's a funny thing and I am quite old now. :ROFLMAO:
No, there was. I remember over 1,000 at the time and it was reported as that too. Then off to Craven Cottage for the game. We met outside the Shakespeare pub at Victoria.

I might be wrong - was very young at the time, but seem to remember it being discussed back then.... Were we the first team to play in the FA Cup final and get relegated in the same season?
Leicester did it before us in 1969.
