It's true though, they are. Albion fans away always seem to make more noise. I mean how often do you hear us sing like that at the Amex? Very rarely is the answer.

Possibly caused by the accoustics in the stadium l know, and the fact that there isn't a coordinated singing section, but even so our away support does seem so much more audible.

I think it's the 'underdog, vocal minority, surrounded by the enemy' spirit, and isn't it great!! Our away fans are indeed wonderful... take a bow 👏👏

When did pat-downs stop? I always get patted-down at the entrance to WSU, but if I hid a smoke bomb in my pants it wouldn't be found...

I have been searched every time I have been to the Amex up until this season. In the past there have been 4 stewards standing outside WSL and we had to queue to be searched. Didn’t happen at Watford and Arsenal games. Searches were suspended because of Covid. Perhaps you had random people giving you a ‘pat down?’

That’s been true of Albion and all other clubs’ fans since the beginning of time.

I think it was one of the best away ends I’ve been in for a while. Very loud throughout, no real let up in singing and the goal scenes were fairly epic

Main highlight was up there with one of the funniest fan related moments I’ve witnessed at the footie - the lad absolutely hammered that kick into his mates face - peach!

Gotta laugh at some of our yoof too, one who had too much shandy was sick then slipped on said sick and fell down the stairs :wozza:

All in all a good night!

Plenty near me bha fans didn't know any words of any songs, or just chose not to sing

Perhaps we need a new thread - maybe even a sticky - with the lyrics and tunes to the songs.
Maybe that will also liven up the home game crowd, too?

Home games will never be as lively in general supporters who do get involved spread to thinly across the ground. Some magical occasions it comes together but they are few and far in between.

As for a threat with lyrics these are football chants not lyrical masterpieces
If someone can’t learn the lyrics to Albion Albion Albion we really are in trouble

Arrghh, I hate to be grumpy after such a great performance and another exhilarating injury time equalizer........but,

Am I the only one who feels that the flare thing is embarrassing.....more like something the mob up the road would do ? And definitely a risky thing for the individuals involved since they will surely be detected one day and banned from all games, home as well as away............

I can think of a few things that can be called embarrassing, but seeing blue smoke on the pitch when Albion scored a late equaliser is definitely not one of them.

I was behind enemy lines - East stand but south end so only 30m or so from the Albion fans. Our fans were excellent, consistently loud throughout the game. They made the locals chuckle with “you dirty northern ********”! Otherwise the Chelsea fans were seemingly indifferent to us, more concerned about ripping in to Pulisic who seems to be the one they hate.

When I told my CFC mate (who took me) how excellent Biss is, he apologised for not knowing anything about him. 94 minutes later he was telling me that Mr Abramovich will be getting the cheque book out for him. Biss was superb, utterly bossed the midfield and reduced the European Player of the Year to anonymity.

Brilliant performance from players, GPott and coaches, and the Albion fans. So glad I was there, just a shame I couldn’t go feral when we equalised…my survival instinct kicked in.

I agree. It was excellent from start to finish, with other highlights including the recognition Knocky got and Biss coming over for a dance at the end.

Was Knocky there? Does he go in with the fans? Pleased to hear he got recognition, we would not have been at this level for five years without him helping us get here.

Yeah, he was there. In the stand next to the Brighton fans in the corner. He gave us a wave and I'm sure he appreciated the two (or was it more?) rousing renditions of We've got Knockaert.

Sat in the home seats but only a few seats from the away end - he must have a ST or a contact because he’s been in the same place before when we’ve played there. He LOVES the attention - saw him when he first went to his seat and he was looking across just waiting for someone to spot him (he did the same at West Ham a couple of weeks ago….made a point of ‘appearing’ near the away end). Lots of smiling and waving, and he stayed to see our boys off at the end. He was surrounded by our fans taking selfies outside the ground afterwards.

Deserves the attention, Albion legend for those two magnificent seasons. Really pleased for him

Perhaps they don't bother searching anyone who looks over 75?
