It will end in tears, as the ground it not suitalbe to support a league club. They will have to move and considering the Albion found it soooo easy to build a new ground, I doubt Whitehawk would have a prayer. There is no other way for it to end than in tears.

You are right - without sorting their ground out, they won't get far.

They may have more options though than the albion had - a 5000 to 10000 seater should be easier to develop and find a site for than the much larger capacity stadium BHAFC wanted.

What about Newport & Stockport County then?
Technically, the City of Newport is a county, thanks to the provisions of the Local Government (Wales) Act 1994, which defined all of the unitary authorities in Wales as "counties".

The football club was, of course, originally called The Newport & Monmouth County Association Football Club.

Course it was, who could fail to know that?? :)

So why do Stockport have a County suffix?
Stockport County Football Club is an English association football club based in Stockport, Greater Manchester. Formed in 1883 as Heaton Norris Rovers, they adopted their current name in 1890 after the creation of the County Borough of Stockport.

Not going to be Brighton City next season apparently.

Why don't they come up with three terrible names and then ask fans to vote for the best...

Heard rumour Steve King possibly being lined up to replace him. Would make sense as would bring in backing in terms of money as he did at Lewes.

Not going to be Brighton City next season apparently.

This was in the Almanac.

The Argus reports that Whitehawk FC have been denied changing their name
to “Brighton City FC” because of objections by the Albion. Director Kevin
Keehan, once commercial manager at the Albion, says:
This was something we wanted to do and wanted to do it if we got promoted to
Conference South on 28th April. We announced our intentions and the FA said we should
have done it by 1st April. However, they said if we went to the Sussex County FA and
Brighton & Hove Albion, and if they were both okay with it, they would push it through.
The Sussex FA said they had no problems but Brighton & Hove Albion have objected.
We heard a couple of reasons but have had nothing offi cial. We believe some of their
concerns were with ambulances going to the wrong place or people getting mixed up with
websites.
We are disappointed. We will be called Whitehawk for the coming season but we will
take it forward from there. It is something that could still happen.

Seem to remember a few years after their bankrolling backers first took over when they were steamrolling their way through the County League the name change of "East Brighon Utd" was mentioned. Think if they still want to change their name going back to this might be the answer.

Good. An element of sanity has been restored. 'Brighton City', leaving aside the fact there is no such place, would have looked a bit grandiose when the money ran out and they were back in the County League. If they wanted to change their name to reflect a place that people outside of Sussex would have heard of what was wrong with 'East Brighton'? (As has been pointed out by others)
