Can agree with that, yes the last few games excluding Ipswich havent been great but the majority of the season we have created loads of chances and hit the woodwork ridiuclous amount of times. Look at the Bolton game , Hoskins should of had a hat trick by HT.
Absolutely CMS and Calde both like the woodwork too. (I wonder if the training ground goals are slightly bigger )

My point is with Roberts/new fella/whoever, he'll be hit with the ball often esp from Greer, but to what end, because Bridcutt, Hammond, Crofts aren't going to be anywhere him.

The Fatherland
It makes him Scottish in the eyes of the authorities

No it doesn't. It just means he is eligible to play for them. My wife is eligible for a German passport and therefore represent the country if she was good at a sport, but this doesn't mean she is German.

Re: Reo Ferdinand Tweet response...

It's very difficult to find a striker as they are the most expensive players due to it being what some would argue is the most difficult position.
Some teams get lucky and get someone on the cheap who then performs at a much higher level, think Rhodes, Austin or Michu.
Relatively speaking Spanish based players are cheaper than British. Therefore , its less of a gamble as there is less to lose.
Mackail-Smith gave every indication he would step up a level but hasn't quite fullfilled this so far. I don't think anyone was saying Gus shouldn't have bought him at the time so put a sock in it and leave him to it.

Pointless arguing over CMS's 'nationality'. Back to the point. Some chairmen are prepared to splash out and secure the big name British striker, some aren't. TB is one of those who won't.

At this stage in the Albion's development, I would say that is the right decision. Also highlights that Gus appears to be doing all he can with the tools he's currently being given. Hopefully the Ulloa signing will come off, because of the limited info we as fans can find on him, looks to be a potential bargain. If he doesnt come or is crap then so be it. Promotion is not a given, nor is it our right. Slowly, slowly catchey monkey. Onwards and upwards, lets smash the Geordies tomorrow.

There'll be some astounding players you sometimes find from lower leagues and it works perfectly. We maybe thought that with Hoskins, but it wasn't a success. If you start looking up, find someone available, then you won't be the only club to know about it and on oft occasion i doubt we'll be the club that'll win out on budget which is usually the winning factor. My guess is that we have to pay a hefty wage for the common man like you or i but a bit less than the other clubs challenging will, so it takes us always gambling slightly for a player we can't be 100% sure will be just right and talking them into joining a little mission that will earn them so much more if they win us promotion. So it's persuasion and the offer of a good enough living compared to most of us out there to those who haven't already reached perfection. Or those that had it and need another chance. That's the squad we have. Of almosts and the ill-fitting and the reborn. And i rather love it. We wouldn't have it as it is without Gus and his way of winning certain people over. And i'll be praising until it all goes wrong, which is way, way off.

Anyone else noticed how many references Gus had made to Roberts.

yes, bit odd... unless its a message. find it difficult to swallow that Reading last season could afford a player we cant this season, i dont see how they would have had substantially higher budget than us.
