To be clear, the bendys do still run to Portslade Station in the early morning and then during the evening rush hour. But during the daytime, they're not allowed up North Street because they're not efficient enough for the ULEZ (ultra-low emissions zone). They get 4.5mpg! Extraordinarily inefficient. They are fun though. I'm sure the club were informed prior to the announcement being made that they're being sacked off and it's end of the year so there's plenty of time to sort replacements for the park and ride. Maybe it's good news for Stagecoach out of Worthing? Maybe their single deckers will get a look in, but there would need to be more of them to replace the lost capacity of the bendys.

The Mercedes Citaro bendy buses came to Brighton only shortly after the Amex opened, and in the Withdean days the capacity was massively less.

Has Mill Road been lengthened, then? It used to fill up in the Withdean era, too!

I spend 6 months in PLoiesti Romania in 99 . . .the bendy buses there were old ones dumped from Groningen.

I'm not sure they were supposed to bend in 3 different axis at the same time . . . very scary. As were taxis . . . walking was pretty sketchy too. manhole covers just missing wasn't unusual.

Im sure there was something in the various blurb about the Mithras Park and Ride being suspended for building,that when the new multi story opened that the park and ride would use that. The multi story has been open at least a year or more but nothing seems to have come of it
