Not the real one
I know that there are lots of rumours regarding signings but I know for definate that we are in talks with the agent of Andrei Kanchelskis, formerly of Rangers, Man U, Man C, Everton etc.
The source I have is Very Reliable. I am not going to tell you who told me but it was an Albion player. Apparently we tried to sign him last season on loan from Southampton but he went to Saudi Arabian club, Al Hilal, for the last four months of the season. Probably wants back into English football as he's out of contract(don't know that for a fact).
If he still has that spark, all be not quite as pacey as before, he will be a more than capable replacement for Brooker. It is possible that nothing comes of this and we hear nothing, but at least the club are looking in all sorts of places for players. Sign him DK.

wouldnt be totally out of the blue, and white!

he was supposed to have been training the early part of last season but it never got any further than that. would be an excellent replacement for brooker.

although i think it is fair to say that the BZ money will be lost on the falmer episode, this may free up some money for wages. i would rather see decent free/loan signings than paying for players. plenty of freebies around!

You can bet they are monitoring the situation keenly Lush, they may even have a spy in the camp to tip them off. I was just thinking the other day that it was a shame Reading didn't start pinching our players when we had the likes of Tiltman, Berry and Co in the team, they may have headed for the Conference instead of the first division.

Lol

AP "Hi Steve me old mate"

SC "Oh - Hi Alan"

AP "Just calling to see how your pre-season training's going"

SC"Oh fine. You know, a few injuries here and there, but everyone's looking sharp."

AP "Sharpe? Wasn't he the Man Utd winger who missed playing in the 1995 Cup Final?

SC "No, Andrei Kanchelskis told me today that it was him......doh!!!!"

AP "Thanks Steve. Sidwell send his love by the way."

not sure if he'll sign, just wants to train with us to get his fitness up, would think at his age with his past he'll want a decent wage packet which any Div 2 club would find hard to find...but if he just wants any old first team action...then sign him up :)

The official site doesn't say anything about AK being in talks with the club, just that he wants to train.

I agree with Crabtree that his wage demands might be a bit high for us.

Somehow I just can see him signing for us but it would be great to have a player with his ability in the squad. Just how committed he would be playing in front of 6500 when he's used to playing in front of 10 times that number is questionable:(

Still seeing as they both played for the same club in the same position he and SC must have plenty in common so who knows it just might happen.
