Obviously going to take time to adjust but was worried today by our inability to keep any form of possession and lost count of the aimless punts upfield which just invited more pressure.

Was hoping under Oscar we would see a higher tempo version of last seasons possession game today looked like a 'hit it towards the big man' setup

Let's hope that is not a sign of things to come

We weren't brilliant, but we weren't that bad either. We don't seem to have the knack of turning the ball into the net as well as the opposition (as evidenced by the stats). Give it time.

I would view it as bad luck if it wasn't for the fact that we managed to not take our chances most of last season too

The players we have signed suggests it's not. May look that way until we get it right though.

I know it s only the first game I have seen, but my initial reaction is one of intense disappointment and surprise.

It appears to me that we have completely ditched Gus's football philosophy, ie pass the ball to each other, wear the opposition down, pass them from one side to the other, to a style of blast the thing downfield as quick as possible and hope ulloa nods on to someone who is on his wavelength and secondly hope that one of the Miriad of free kicks Spanish daveeed can launch into the area will somehow hit one of our players.

Thought ince looked decent, agustien(sp?) looked poor and the defence looked a bit stretched at times.

This is going to be a very long season and as much as people say we shouldn't, we will end up comparing it with the last two under gus.

Sounds like it's that old chestnut again! Chances galore, but nobody getting them on target!

Oscar - this week you should be mostly doing shooting practice, with a bit of defending thrown in for good measure!

It wasnt chances galore at all.

Completely ineffective. Just hoofing it and hoping something would happen.

Miss Orlandi and wingers playing out wide.

The lack of possession was clear from the commentary. It is very bad news of we go to hoofball

too many long balls, aguestein and ince look quality. need to start with lualua and buckley to be effective in attack and obviously left back, defence looked dire today and no imagination in midfield.

Congratulations. ...you have won first prize for the most original name for our Dutch midfielder. ..I really do hope he's not reading NSC and realising how retarded some of our fans are. ..

Game aside for a second (balls to anyone who think its irrelevant), west stand seemed utter shite today. Hardly any noise.

On the radio it sounded like they were completely embarrassed by the North Stand. Its a good job that many of them don't travel to away games and stay silent for 90 minutes.

Why are we blaming individuals? The problem is with the team going into the match without a gameplan. Total madness.

We certainly should not blame individuals for the performance today.

It must have been a nightmare for the Amex people trying to pick a MOTM !
