Can't understand why it's not allowed, it's not like a U21 match will take millions of viewers away from the Super Sunday audience,oh well 5 minute highlights on Wednesday will have to do.

I agree, it's a stupid rule. Care to estimate the number of people who'd decide not to go to Highbury or Old Trafford today because they could stay at home and watch Brighton U21s? Yeh, thousands of course!

Equally though, it seems equally stupid of The Albion to keep arranging U21 matches to clash with PL action. Why play it today? What's wrong with tomorrow? Are they just building up frustration so that when they offer to show the matches next season for £40 quid we all breathe a sigh of relief and cough up?

They haven't said anything but he's only played once (the 3-3 PL2 draw with Man Utd) since he picked up an ankle injury while on international duty with Rep of Ireland U21s so I wonder if it's connected to that?
