I am running the Brooks Brighton 10k again on Sunday 16th. Hoping to run under 40 mins this time managed 41.24 last year. Any of you entered? Last year was cold and touching storm like winds so hope Brighton can offer improved weather conditions this time.

Can you pay on the day? Sub 40 is a pretty good effort.

I'm in this year. Sub-40 is mighty fine. I am usually around the 42-43 mark and tip my hat to anyone who can go that quick. I have just done the Barns Green half-marathon which is a lovely course with numerous lovely pubs nearby to undo all the good you've just done.

Good luck and report back with your time.

Good luck to all you guys. 42-44 is good going I did 8 miles on Sunday at a reasonable pace and got home in 57 mins so should do 40-41 on Sunday. Lat years weather was dreadful so hope the suns shines this time. Good flat course and down hill start adds to good times.

BR get training for next year mate its good fun.

Will do. The results are posted on Brooks web site straight after the race so its good to get home and log on to see where you came out of all the runners.

This reminds me that I need to enter the Brighton half as well. If the weather is good this is a glorious run.

I need to get a couple of half marathons in as I am running the London Marathon next year.

I did the Berlin one last year. Looking at one for next year as well (got rejected in the ballot by London for 2009).

You'll need to do a few 20 miles runs as well. Runners World have some great training programs on their website.

The Seaford half is a toughie and I think it is in the run up to London. If any more come to mind I'll let you know.

BTW, you may be interested in mapmyrun.com - a FINE runners site that allows you to plan and time your runs amongst other things.

I've just been on a run that I now find is exactly 4.8 miles in length.

Cheers HT for your advice. I have a 24 week programme which I got off RW. I am scheduled for the 20 milers around Feb 09, seems unimaginable at the moment but I am determined to do it.
