Against Bridge he will be as he will prove to be too quick and experienced to worry about Zaha but against Painter it will be a different story as he will just race past him and be pulled down and Palace will get yet another penalty.

Bridge is a very good player but I'd still back Wilf in a 1 on 1. If on top form the only way to stop him is to put 2 or even 3 players on him.

Bridge has played against better players than Zaha many times. Ronaldo, Rooney, Ronaldinho for example. I'm sure he wouldn't be too worried about young Wilf.

Painter, on the other hand...

That was in his prime though and with all due to respect, if he's now playing for Brighton he most certainly isn't in his prime!

Same argument again and again about our best players "they're playing for Brighton so must be shit now". By your logic, Zaha is a shit player.

Bridge is only 32 and was playing Premier League football until May. It's a lack of opportunity, not a decline in his quality, that's led him to join various clubs on loan - we're merely the latest of them, though I'd love him to join permanently. Painter has filled in manfully and is still on his way back to match-sharpness, but he's not in Bridge's class. Oddly, I actually think we've missed Bridge more for what he offers offensively - his pace on the overlap and crossing quality has been sensational. Painter can't give us that.

Bruno looked injured for the last 20 minutes, was running with his arm up in the air the whole time?!

We are f*cked if both are out.

Thanks. The thought of Bridge and Bruno being out on Saturday horrifies me.
Exactly. I am not happy.
I heard Kuszczak got his hand slammed in a car door last night after the game.

So how did Leeds and Hull do it? If they put 2 or 3 on him, why couldn't you beat the 8 or 9 remaining players?

Such a ridiculous argument. Is he as good as he's ever been... it's impossible to know, because, as with Zaha, he's not playing top opposition every week. However, we do know he's very good and could easily play in the premier league, and probably will next year. He's with us simply because City are paying him and don't care about the money, and probably don't want to loan him out to another premier league side.

It's a fair point, but you can also argue that Zaha is not in the same league as those players, and Bridge has far more experience than him. It will be an interesting battle if it happens, and not one that should be taking place in the 2nd tier, to be honest.

If it's Painter then we defintiely need Barnes in the side as well.

That's not really odd, we've only conceded 2 goals in the last 3 games, it's our attack down the left that's suffered most. Against Palace we'd need his defensive qualities though.

Don't get this hatred of Painter to be honest. I don't recall him ever having a stinker for us. Granted I also can't recall him ever being brilliant but he's pretty steady.

This Zaha mush looks like he'll cause anyone we stick up against him problems. That said the commentator on the telly has said he was quiet the other week against Derby and reports I've read said he was quiet last night. So maybe he's slightly out of form? We can but hope!

Buckley was brilliant at Huddersfield but quieter against Bolton and quiter still agaist Bizzle. Wingers are very much form horses.

Really? I saw WB last night, and he said he had died. He said he would be out for approximately two months, but his recovery was coming on faster than anticipated.

Painter was destroyed by Zaha at the Amex. It seems to be forgotten that Ramage was destroyed by Noone in the same game.

Why? I'm sure Painter is perfectly capable of missing a penalty or screwing a shot wide if called upon to do so.

Is no one playing on Saturday then ?

No, Noone has moved to Cardiff. In his place we could have Championship legend Steven Dobbie, in-form and formidable Andrea Orlandi, top quality defensive skills Ashley Barnes, quickest in the Championship Kazenga LuaLua or only-just-returning-to-his-best-but-is-still-better-than-you-whole-team Will Hoskins.

What a ridiculous argument/comparison! Zaha is a young player that has come through our academy and we have under contract, all the big clubs want him and we know it's a matter of when not if, that he goes to a big club. Bridge on the other hand is at the arse end of his career, if he was that amazing he would still be playing for a Prem team or a decent side abroad. Or are you that amazing that he would rather play for you than say a Fulham, Saints, Villa or Qpr?
