Any Premier League or Championship club that doesn't monitor every player in the top two divisions and beyond - especially one who has impressed at international level, as Bridcutt did on his debut for Scotland, isn't doing its job. "Thought to be", "tracking" and other vague phrases reveal this for the bollocks it is. What does "tracking" mean? They're following him from hotel-room to sun-lounger on his hols? I think Palace clearly want Liam Bridcutt, but their fans seem to be quoting too low a fee.

I'm sure he'd jump at a chance to play in the Premier League, so the best outcome for us is a bidding war between Premier League teams, with Palace losing out.

We only got £10 million for Zaha upfront, a player who is an amazing talent, 5 years younger, an England international and a forward thinking flair player (attacking players always go for way more money). He also still had 4.5 years to run on his contract compared to Bridcutt who has less than half of that.

We only got £10 million for Zaha upfront, a player who is an amazing talent, 5 years younger, an England international and a forward thinking flair player (attacking players always go for way more money). He also still had 4.5 years to run on his contract compared to Bridcutt who has less than half of that.

10 rising to 15m wasn't it?

I reckon we'll get £5m rising to £7m based on appearances and so on. Which is still cheap as chips compared to the mugs who signed Jordan Rhodes.

Quality costs, bridders a Scotland international rated as the best defensive mid outside the prem will not go cheap. Length of contract makes no difference so long as its more than a year. £3m dream on, if he goes it will be same as or more than the £5m offered 6 months ago.

Does anyone know what we got for Noone in the end? I seem to remember we turned down 1.5m before accepting a higher offer. This is for a player that, although popular with fans, wasn't a regular starter and 1 of 3 players in a similar position. Demonstrates that we're not desperate for the cash if anything else.
