Bridcutt eyes contract extension

The conundrum is this:

The club are likely to want to offer him until the end of the season, they might feel it will keep him keen and focused with a chance to offer a longer deal at the end, or of course release him if new faces are sought or the managers view becomes negative towards him.

But the player would be keen to have some kind of length of contract security, he may rightly feel he has earned the trust of the manager and would hope that he is repaid with at least the rest of this and next season.

His agent will be speaking to many other clubs on his behalf whilst encouraging Gus to offer something worth signing.

There isn't a goody or baddy here, both parties will be trying to secure a deal that is beneficial to themselves.

Just thought that Poyet was desperate for players and Bridcutt didnt have the best of games when he played us against Stockport. Proved me wrong because he has been really good.

Bridcutt was one of the players that stood out against us when he played for Stockport though ???

For good and bad(red) reasons.

Too far from the sun
In the Borient game and the Oldham and the Brentford game I thought he was average to poor... One good game out of 4 (seemingly) certainly doesn't warrant more than the end of the season IMO. I've seen a lot worse though - Not as good as Nav on early impressions tho...
Opinions, eh? I thought he (along with Bennett) was about the only player who turned in any kind of performance against Orient and thought he did OK against Oldham as well. Agree re Brentford game though. Still very early for a player in his position. Look at how much of a slagging Navarro took for a long time after he came here. Now he's the dog's...

Oh yeh I agree to give him time ala Navarro for sure. Would def give him until the end of the season. Not knocking him majorly just that he's made a few bad passes - hasn't played a lot recently which is very apparent...
