In same side, does not work and will never work. One or the other, to break up play and play the simple ball. We may get the odd result here and there but the ball simply does not move forward quick enough and neither of them have great vision to play the killer ball...This is NOT slagging either player off, as I feel there is a place for one or other in the side, just not both.

Gus got soft yesterday and let the scousers play at there home ground, big mistake he said he would play the best team for the job but didn`t

Totally agree...Let's get one thing straight from the start. Liverpool at home are going to beat us nine times out of ten at the moment. But Poyet did pick the wrong team, no doubt about it.

Agreed, but never drop Bridders the guy has been player of the season so far!
Our turnaround in form seemed to start when Sparrow found form and confidence in midfield and was playing more in the box to box role that Navarro was in yesterday.
One problem is, when shooting opportunities arise outside the box in that position Navarro doesn't have the confidence to hit the ball early (Leeds aside!) and often gets caught in possesion. After his cracker against Stains Sparrow now has the confidence to hit it early, hopefully Razzak will too if he comes into that role.

100% agree. Bridcutt is an excellent control player - the other midfielder has to be creative. Navarro has no ingenuity. Got to be either JFC or Razak for me in for Navs.

These 2 can play in the middle but you must have a creative MF with them, 2 wingers doesn't count because it's obvous where the balls going to end up. Barnes is not a creative MF.

Navarro has been a starter for a while now whilst we have got the good run of results.
Noone by most fans has been hailed with Buckley as the 2 most creative sparks this season, and was eased in again as a sub.

So no change.

Just ripped apart by a rampant PL home team on the day, who countered at incredible pace in the second half, as we gambled & threw loads of bodies forward.

Not only Navarrro, based on yesterday, particularly in the 2nd half. I can't understand it, me. If I was at Anfield, 22 yards out, ball at my feet in front of our fans, I'd just belt the bastard as hard as I could goalwards! We seemed to be frightened to shoot sometimes.

I think that Bridcutt plays better with Navarro as Naravvo does a lot of the leg work freeing Bridcutt up. Yesterday it was Bridcutt who gave the ball away cheaply not Navarro.

There is a big call for two wingers and a creative midfielder to play this we will still need to play 4-5-1 which would have to be Bridcutt and Navarro. They do play well together as recent results show, ignore Liverpool they where just a different class.

I think there is a massive over reaction to the Liverpool game, turn the clock back a week and we where the dogs bollocks having just beaten Leeds.

Absolutely, and even if it ends up in the stands then at least you don't end up with the opposition countering rapidly as happened many times yesterday when you get caught in possesion.

Yep, when you play the 2-3-1 attack (as do most top sides these days), the player who sits in 'the hole' has to be exceptional at retaining the ball, feeding the ball wide, and playing the incisive ball through to the striker. JFC as a fully developed seasoned pro would be that player every day, as would Vicente if he could play 90 minutes. Barnes, for all the good work he does under Gus (mainly defensive), is not rounded enough, or technically good enough to play it. But we will get there.

I hope the future is Bridders, JFC and maybe Razak. With careful mentoring by Gus we could have a young, talented and very exciting core in our midfield. Worth building a team around.

Razak may be a bit young at this stage and our hopes might get raised too quickly by the 'young YaYa Toure' tag when he hasn't played a game for us yet, but on the other hand he is two years older than JFC, so........ I think he will get some pitch time at Hull.

Someone else missing the point.

Gus preferred game is to sit and wait and have two holding midfielders in front of the back four. It is working hence our league position.

Yesterday was a one off against a class side.

He will not change now, only replacing the attacking people, ie Vicente, razzak, the Israeli, sparrow, no one, lualua etc

Agree the two can't play together, we lack any creativity or a ball winner in the middle when they play togrther. I really am looking forward to seeing Razzak and bridders in the middle together.

If Dicker or Sparrow were available I'm sure one of them would have played instead of Navarro.

Err, I'm not aware most fans think Noone is one of our two most creative players this season! Does a lot of running with the ball but no end product. Doesn't matter how well you keep the ball at your feet you need to deliver decent crosses or score goals. He does neither.

We have had a good run at the start of the year but I would suggest this is in spite of Navarro rather than because of him. He's not a bad player but he isn't very creative. Bridcutt's role is the defensive midfielder so he needs to be able to feed the ball to someone creative and at the moment, there isn't anyone.
