Cheshire Cat
The most curious thing..
Nobody knows the actual reasons behind the killing. They were never explained fully in court and perhaps even the perpetrators can't do so bearing in mind they are both seriously disturbed, and with autism traits (not that autism is a reason for killing). However, Brianna's transgenderism was a factor in at least one of them picking her out and becoming "obsessed", although a lot of their reported comments sounded like typical immature children's unpleasantness and bullying attitudes to somebody perceived as different to most other people. We don't know who else was on their list, or why they might have been targeted.I stand to be corrected. The gender of the victim may well have been irrelevant, and just a coincidence.
Not that it matters.
The victim was not random though, and if they had a list then it would have had to be of people known to them.
I made my comment primarily to rebut a suggestion made by someone that it is getting dangerous for us all, out there, especially late at night, owing to random attacks. It isn't.
The whole thing is a complete tragedy in that it has destroyed one life completely unnecessarily, and ruined the lives of three families.
The court proceedings as reported by the Liverpool Echo were quite distressing in the details. Possibly like most, I read them due to a sense of morbid curiosity that I am not proud of.
