Brian Horton Leaves Port Vale

I thought he was crap for Vale, until this season. Strange time to leave.

Have to say, I never saw Nobby play for us & don't think he was that good a manager for us either. He struck lucky with Rod Thomas having the best 6 months of his career. As soon as Rod got injured at Peterborough we were on a downward spiral. But Adams cleared away the squad Nobby built for us, so I can't give him credit for that either.

I suppse I'm trying to say I don't have a strong affinity to Nobby Horton - show him some respect because the oldies who remember him playing think he's a legend, but personally players like Chapman, Byrne, Nelson & Zamora are my Albion legends

I first spoke to Brian Horton on the Cambridge pitch. They Albion team marched on to the pitch dressed in suits, Brian Horton followed by Mark Lawrenson, looking for the dressing room.

As we were also wandering over the pitch as it semed the quickest way to find our seats, he asked us where they were.

Our seats turned out to be a scaffolding plank nailed to two beer crates cemented to the terrace.

Brian Horton is one of the finest players ever to wear the stripes!

When Wardy was scoring all the goals (can't remember if it was the record season), it was Nobby who was voted player of the year!

I wish him well!!

Youth-team coach Martin Foyle has taken over as Port Vale's new manager.

Foyle has spent 12 years at Vale Park in both a playing and coaching capacity

He will be in charge of first-team affairs against Oldham after Brian Horton left by mutual consent on Thursday.

horton would have gone in november but we couldnt afford to pay off his contract .
at least our defence may have a defender in it now instead of centre midfielders playing there.
