Why is possibly the most cool dude on earth advertising Marks & Spencer ?

Has he lost all his marbles - so sad IMHO

If you're still wearing teenage fashions aged 50, you'll look a cock my friend! M&S is still top for suits and the man has always worn suits. Promoting the right business therefore, makes sense to me!

Bryan Ferry has sold out, although not as if he had any credibility anyway

Cool is one word I must admit that I never associated with Brian Ferry. Singing with your eyes shut may be contrived cool but that's about it.

Brian Ferry is a has-been and his pro-hunting wanker of a son, the obnoxious vermin that is 'Otis' Ferry has been born into money and will never do an honest days work in his life.

I saw Roxy Music at The Dome when they wore that kind of stuff (above) and Ferry had a quiff greased into a point, and sparkley turned-up collar that was almost higher than said quiff. Eno wore some weird waistcoat with feathers on the back of it ??? .
I believe Pete Sinfield (King Crimson songwriter) had something to do with them as well. They were a bit undeveloped at that time, just played a set of their first album with little presentation other than the weird clobber.

Bowie was very visual before them, and def more theatrical. He once appeared here second-billed to The Groundhogs - the most incongruous billing ever! DB was almost booed off for the androgony, nobody had seen that before. I wondered if he referred to us in 'Drive In Saturday' ("the strange ones in the dome...").

Glam was well bizarre, as trends go, but it kept things interesting when all else was thudding prog, high-pitched pseudo motown and disco. The heyday of glitter bands and spandex, platform shoes and stupid hairdos.

Funny that as Ferry is the son of a miner and very working class so I guess his son has the fortune to have a father that "made it" good luck to him.

As for being a has been, I'd disagree he's just not cutting edge anymore. He has aged with his audience and has made some good stuff in the last few years, I love his album As Time Goes By he does a fine job of covering old classics.
