Haha, make no mistake they were a part of it, but Swinson and Starmer, Cooper, Bercow you name them they have one goal and one vision only to stay in the EU, against the will of the people, they are a disgrace at least you could see that the ERG was trying to get the best deal.

But you don't know what 17.4m people actually voted for. I would suggest there are a fair few who are dumb enough to agree to jump of a very high cliff and hope for the best but I also suspect that many were expecting a very easy (thanks Liam) deal to be done.

The cliff analogy has to be the biggest 'project fear' word bandied about, which has got snowflakes everywhere fearing their lives.

Look at it in another way, no risk, no reward but we have control over our destiny and we can control that risk and gain that huge reward of getting Britain back on track without being dictated to by the whole of the EU.

Well, I suppose as long as someone else dies you can tell yourself you accurately predicted the future. Jo Cox has already been murdered so it's a reasonably safe bet that there is another violent right wing Brexit demanding extremist out there.....

Jesus Christ Man, they are refusing to allow a default no deal exit without their consent, that is all. I have no doubt that Parliament at some point will vote for a deal that is put before them. It may need a referendum to ratify it, it may be not the sort of deal you wanted, but it will be leaving the EU. The only way Brexit is not going to happen is if the will of the people has changed and the people are asked, or if the people elect a Liberal Government standing on a promise to revoke A50. Remainers are not celebrating.
What I want to know is, if we are asked and we say remain, will you get over it? If it is close, do you think Farage will just put his hands up and say oh well, the people have spoken, i had better suck it up and maybe being in the EU won't be that bad if I just believe in it?

But that's how elections work. You can only count those that voted - those that could but don't are effectively agreeing with whatever the outcome maybe. And that's one of the ironic things about this referendum. One of the most vocal groups against Brexit are the 18-25 group, yet they are the group that the fewest bothered to vote. Moral of the story, if you don't like what could come to pass, get off your lazy backside and vote. I have little sympathy with those that were able to vote and didn't.

Oh i totally agree with you, it's more the trope of the 'will of the people' when it isn't the majority of the people, just the ones that voted that annoys me a little!

Boris Johnson has appointed Therese Coffey as Work and Pensions Secretary after the resignation of Amber Rudd, Downing Street said.

Elected in 2010, Dr Coffey is a former deputy Commons leader and was appointed as environment minister by Theresa May.

Her predecessor Ms Rudd resigned after suggesting the Government was aiming to take the UK out of the EU without a deal.

All members of Boris Johnson’s cabinet have been told to sign up to his pledge of leaving the EU on 31 October with or without a deal.

Ms Rudd also resigned as minister for women and equalities. It is not yet known who will replace her in that role.

Dr Coffey has spent time in Government so will have some awareness of Brexit planning.

The They Work For You website describes her as an MP who votes the party line the “vast majority” of the time.

Before 2016, she generally voted for a referendum on the UK’s EU membership. Since 2016, she has voted three times against UK membership and 14 times against the right to remain for EU citizens living in the UK.

She has also largely voted against gay rights and equality measures, including most recently in 2019 when she voted against extending same-sex marriage in Northern Ireland.

She voted against the mansion tax, which would increase the tax bill on expensive homes, and for the bedroom tax, which reduced housing benefits for social tenants with spare rooms.

She voted against linking benefits to inflation, against allowing people with long term conditions to receive more money, and for reducing spending on welfare.

She is now responsible for the roll out of Universal Credit, which combines a raft of benefits in one payment. Critics say people transferred to UC could be £3,000 a year worse off.

A friend of mine in Alnwick was at the cardiac clinic recently, with her husband, who has a defibrillator actually fitted to his body. Two old boys were talking in the waiting room about there being too many Asians here.
The friend and husband went in first to see the consultant, who was Asian.
